Stephen A. Smith just said on SportsCenter that he's hearing that Leonard is willing to sit all next season if the Spurs don't trade him to Los Angeles.

I predicted that in the first thread, but crazy to hear from a horses' mouth.

There's got to be a threshold where it's breach of contract or something along those lines, no?

I was fully on the get Kawhi train, but if there is any truth to that? Eff him, and it absolutely is breach of contact at that point. People can point to Kyrie threatening the Cavs with surgery, but this is infinitely different.

Not sure if he said the Los Angeles part in the end of your last sentence there in your first paragraph. I think he meant if the spurs don’t trade him this off season. I may be wrong but that’s what he said from what I remember

He said to Los Angeles at first, but then sorta back tracked and said Kawhi just wants out of San Antonio.

Kawhi is an a-hole.. Understand why Lebron wants him, though, he can pick up the toughest defensive assignments.. Deng + Ingram to SAS, maybe Zubac, and they can still work a Randle sign and trade for another piece..

Yes because the spurs want deng. Kuzma has to be on that deal.

Kuzma/Ingram/Deng is a great haul for a player who wants to leave and is heading to free agency.

I believe LBF had some info on it in the first thread and said it was possible before San Antonio had to take legal action.

Something along the lines of he could sit if his injury was nagging for a full year or something of the sort, don't quote me on that though.

Doubt they keep Ingram. The problem here is that it seems that Leonard seems intent to play with the lakers. Maybe he wants to sign long term with the sixers idk.

I would think the lakers have to go all in at this point. You have the best player in the league on your team but he isn't getting any younger. You don't wanna waste even a year if you don't have to. I still think a team with LeBron and Leonard on it surrounded by decent enough role players can beat anyone. Normally you need at least 3 stars in todays NBA but when two of the stars are the top 2 players in basketball, you may not need a 3rd if you surround those stars with good role players.

The Lakers not trading for Leonard would be like if the Celtics got Allen to go with Pierce and just said "nah" on Garnett.

The clock is ticking on your prize player. You either go all in or risk his prime on a bunch of mediocre playoff exits.

He likely signs long term with the lakers and spurs are taking an awful contract

This is exactly why I laugh at these offers of Brown, Rozier and SAC pick.
