This blows a hole in the conventional theory that Euro's cannot play defense. Doncic may not have the hops but he is definitely up there in basketball smarts. The game slows down for him...

Euro players are still hard to scout - Zizic looked like an athletic beast with a nonstop motor, and the minute he went up against summer league competition, he was plodding and not effective.

Doncic looked slow in Europe and looks slow here - but is a master of body control, change of pace, timing.

they aren't many talented 5s in the Euroleague. A mediocre centre will shine. There are some good guards. Plus considering Doncic was blowing out any competition you could easily see he has a bright future. I still don't think he'll be averaging 30ppg but kid means business since day 1.

Btw is till think Zizic can be a serviceable centre.

Zizic is up for debate as he is young and remains unproven, but I thought he looked good or at least "effective" in SL competition, particularly as SL went on. It was well known that he was limited in terms of quickness and to a lesser extent athleticism, even for a Center (this was mentioned in all his scouting reports), and his stats overseas showed that he was raw offensively.

Now, Doncic, was for years putting up stats in Europe that were pretty crazy relative to his age. Last season, at 18, after 5 Euroleague games, he was averaging 29/9/5 with a .705 TS%. He went on to win Euroleague MVP. Obviously, there are 26 y/o ex-NBA players in Europe who couldn't dream of that kind of production.

You can't argue with production, talent, skill, and consistency. Many got Luka wrong, but it was for the same reasons Draymond Green was a second round pick and considered a lesser prospect than Fab Melo (by our front office, at least), also PJIII. I wouldn't isolate such challenges to scouting Euro players.

Yeah. Not sure how people saw what Luka had afhieved already and what he was doing up against grown men professionals not only for his club but also country and not saw that the dude is special.

People were over reading the whole Europe thing and fell in love with the good ol “ceiling”.

I didn't think it was going to translate because of the bad pick-and-roll defense being played in Europe. Their bigs are clueless, and I thought those soft passes he was throwing to the roll man would get absolutely picked off in the NBA. However, what I failed to realize was just how brilliant Luka was as a cross-court passer. Probably the 2nd best I've ever seen at finding the guys in the corners for easy 3s, right up there with Lebron. Those passes are very difficult to pull off, and Doncic has mastered it.

From what I've been able to see it seems minor.

Is it more serious or is there a history of back issues with him?

At this point we need anything we can get in that matchup. They have great depth sure, and they're dominating routinely sitting Kawhi and Lowry all year... but it helps.

He had spasm’s and missed a few games a couple years back, IIRC.

Kay Felder was arrested and charged with assault, reportedly choking a woman and leaving marks on her neck. Sound familiar??

He was immediately waived the same day as the arrest.

“On Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, Raptors 905 guard Kay Felder was charged by police in connection with an allegation of domestic violence. Raptors 905 have waived Felder, effective immediately.”

If we do strike out on AD, someone else I’d add to the wish list that people don’t bring up often is Jokic.

I’d pay a lot of money to see him and Kyrie running an offense together. Who knows maybe he gets disgruntled in Denver?

Good loss for the American colony near Buffalo.
Kawhi was clutch X 2 but Denver playing very well. Jokic is an outstanding big.

Raps have 5 L, Bucks have 7 L and Sixers & Pistons have 8 L.
We have 10 L.
We will catch them sooner rather than later.
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

Rockets are an absolute mess. Up 19 and they choked away the lead. Lol at Harden and CP3.

Celtics shouldn’t lose up until after Christmas based on the schedule. By then, they should be the second seed in the east and right behind the raptors.
