Danny Ainge is a good GM. Not great. If some of you want him fired, then let be for taking KO over Giannis, Brown over Jamal Murray. Yabusele was horrible, Zizic wasn’t much better. But if that’s the case, then about 90% of GMs should have been fired.

Do you think they are going to come out and say that when it’s in their beat interest Kyrie comes back? You don’t want let an all-star in his prime walk and get nothing in return.
They aren’t singing his praises either. Kyrie isn’t liked or respected by coaches, ownership, teammates and even some of our broadcast team.
They kissed his ass all year, from owners, to coaches to some players so he wouldn’t bolt. He threw teammates under he bus publicly and gave up on the team in the playoffs and never owned up to it.
Meanwhile, Horford apologized to the fans for the team’s performance after get eliminated from the playoffs.
So you have no idea if ownership wants Kyrie back?
You have no idea how to read between the lines?
Just like last week when I was saying there is more than an 80% chance that AD will be a Laker before the draft. Did you guys want a link for that too? Lot of people here had false hope that AD would be a Celtic. That wasn’t going to happen.
Now people want Danny’s head because he didn’t go all in on a player that didn’t want to be in Boston and was going to leave in a year?
I personally wouldn’t mind if Danny stepped down for health reasons. I’m not going to sit here and act like he is a great GM, he isn’t. He is a good GM. His drafts have been questionable most years. He has failed to get even one really good Euro here. But he has been pretty solid on trades and overall is better than about 75% of the GMs.

The future is uncertain, and that's not good enough when the whole fanbase was convinced we were building a team that would compete long term.

That's the one that hurts more than all the others combined...

The only thing that worries me more than Danny trading three picks is Danny making three picks...get ready for busts.
Jaylen and Jayson are busts?
Do we have the third pick in this draft? Otherwise, let's take a look at the graveyard that is Danny's draft picks outside the Top 10: Yabu, Zizic, James Young, Fab Melo, RJ Hunter, etc, etc.

Outside the top 3 this draft is garbage. Ainge wont be the only one drafting busts

Everything I've read says they want him back, but Kyrie is set on Brooklyn. I think you're taking liberties with their thoughts.

Danny has yet to miss in the top 5ish. That's incredibly hard to do.
But outside that awesome draft of west/allen/Jefferson he has alot more what the **** than anything else
He literally traded up and picked Kelly olynyk over Giannis.
I wont pretend to say I knew who Giannis was or that he would be great. But I'm not the one being paid millions to know these things.

Teams will end up with good players outside the Top 10. But looking at history, it won't be us. Which brings up another problem with Danny Ainge: Austin Ainge.

Re: Fire Danny Ainge
Lads, I've always thought we were rational, that's why I loved this forum. Stop **** overreacting. For real. You do understand that the Pels wanted Tatum/Smart and potentially 3 picks, maybe a pick swap as well. Irving is LEAVING. If AD leaves 1 year after we trade for him it'd take us 7-8 to come back cause we wont have any picks or players. We'd essentially be tanking for the Pels..... It's such simple logic and it seems a lots of you fail to realize it...
Good assessment:
PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

I would prefer a poll of Real GM posters determining our picks this week over Danny. Not joking.

Maybe Danny was going to go all in on AD, and the owners stepped in and said no to the trade. We might never know the real facts.
But I’m sure both Danny and the owners were on the same page, knowing AD would go to LA after the 1 year contract was up.

You do not trade Tatum for 1 year of AD. That is stuppid... If AD was open to extention here this deal would be done in seconds...

If Irving was coming back, we might've done the deal, too, imo. But without Irving and AD wanting to be in LA, I'd say giving up 3-4 picks and Tatum would probably set us back 7-8 years. If we don't win a title, Davis is gone, if we do win a title it's possible Davis leaves, too....

If ownership Danny can't see this they are blind. Guy not drafted and kyle lowry think he was low first rounder. Those guys are valuable to winning and drafting should be the strongest in the league and Celtics are not even close to the best drafters and I never read of them improving these people.JR Hawks wrote:chrisab123 wrote:JR Hawks wrote:

I'm not fan of Danny because of no improvements in this department. Bad enough that he didn't improve medical as soon as he got here.

Also outside the top 10: Rondo, Al Jefferson, Tony Allen, Avery Bradley. He has gotten some decent players but it has been a while. Sullinger looked like he was going to be decent but the dude couldn't control his diet.JR Hawks wrote:chrisab123 wrote:JR Hawks wrote:

Danny definitely needs to draft better, but missing on non-lotto picks should be pretty low on the list of fireable offenses.

If AD is in a Celtics jersey before Kyrie hits free agency (July) then I doubt Kyrie even thinks about going anywhere else. It might be a short term deal but he would likely still come back.

You don't understand what I wrote. Irving is not coming even prime MJ was here. He 100% has verbal agreement with the Nets. Do you really think that Danny didn't at least contact him and tell him he's willing to trade most if not all of our assets for AD if Irving comes back? I mean that's silly to think. Ainge leaves no stone un-turned. I think Ainge and Wyc have known that Irving is leaving regardless of what we do for a while now.

AD is still top 10, as were Kawhi and PG13 this season. Name me the next top 10 guy Danny will have a chance to use his hoarded assets on?
Westbrook.
