Could be a Brian Grant / Corliss Williamson kind of player. Nothing flashy, but a team player who can do everthing.

I don’t be know if this has been posted.

Grant Williams had a game this past season where he went 23-23 from the line. He had another game where he was 14-14 from the line.

He averaged 7 FTs per game.

Also, both Carsen Edwards and Romeo Langford averages 6 FTs per game. For a team that was poor at getting to the line, Boston drafted 3 guys that get to the line at a high frequency.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I think the O will be a little less predictable and more varied this year.

There is a great article on the Athletic from Sam Vecenie about Williams. It is behind a paywall, but here are some highlights.

Strong as ****, length issues that he makes up for by being in the right position, good luck backing him down, good passer and decision maker, can really play ball.

Do people realize he was a first team all american and 2 time SEC player of the year? Remember when that used to mean something? I am assuming this, but he probably killed the interview. Seems like a great kid

I can't wait for preseason

Bring this young man to the team and many great things will follow. Good move Danny Ainge.

Sounds like a recent vacancy for us.

I'm enamored with this kid, previously I had only seen DX posts but these interviews really show a high character individual who can be taught/willing to be taught and provide positivity within the locker room.

Positivity and cohesion is what we clearly lacked this past season. Chemistry is the only reason there wasn't a parade down Causeway street last week. I'm glad they're taking the steps to steer the ship.

yeah, good thing he won't have to go up against Simmons, Isaac/Gordon, Siakam, Sabonis/Leaf, Giannis, Bagley, JJJ, Markkanen, Adebayo, Griffin, Collins, Green, Randle, Love and Aldridge...oh wait. Pretty much every team has a 6'9" or above PF with great length that will absolutely dominate Williams and keep him on the bench, never mind.

While I would prefer a taller more athletic player to help defend the players like Giannis/Lebron driving to the basket, I actually think he will be able to guard many of the players you listed better than Marcus Morris.

I just looked it up to confirm but Morris has a smaller wingspan. Seems like Williams has a shot within a year or two to be an upgrade to Morris.

Kind of a low bar, right? Not to dog Williams, he seems like a smart, heady player. And there's a spot for that. But, I was hoping for a shot at one of the bigs (with height) in the draft. Teams like MIL, DEN, TOR made gambles on those types of players and it paid off big time. We're making gambles on guards and undersized forwards where even if they pay off, it's not as big a payoff.

Taco Bell in the summer league seems the most we will gamble. Maybe Danny thinks 1 project is enough in Williams or scouting showed the bigs in the draft had to many red flags. I can only hope this is the case as we are too light on bugs.

Literally any minute Yabs gets, I'd rather have Gilbert Godfrey out there instead of him.

Brown's either going to love this guy off the court or he's going to feel like a poser compared to him.

Haven't seen this kid play but some of the descriptions make me think of Adrian Griffin.

He played 41 games last season at 6 minutes a game. 4 in the playoffs at 3.5. I guess not a great deal, but put in this guy instead for at least that.

I would love a great role player here. He and Ojeyle are going to draw the tough guards of Simmoms and Freak
