Langford has a strange quality to his game where he makes it look so easy that it’s unimpressive when it shouldn’t be - he makes it look ordinary..

The Waters highlights were pretty freakin impressive, honestly. If he can bring anything approaching that level of play to the NBA, then he's probably a better player than even Edwards.

Man, Romeo is nasty too! Wow, this year's draft is one of the best of Danny's in years.

Smooth pull-up, great control with the ball, sees openings in the defense, and can apparently block shots and be an active defender. He's a lottery pick at a position where we just lost a key contributor. He needs to be on the NBA roster and getting 15-20 min a game

Yes, pls.
Good assessment:

It would great for his career if Brad started him in place of Hayward. He has a similar ability to penetrate and dish. Of course, he hasn’t earned it yet but I feel like it would jump start his career and after that great game in Portland get him some confidence to get rolling.

Watching the highlights of Portland, it’s nice to see that he actually is the most talented player we drafted and deserved to be picked first. He still has to put in the work but I think he has more polish to his game than Brown did as a rookie and similar talent level.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Not that I'm down on any of the rooks, but I think Waters is gonna be the best of the bunch...has so much Chris Paul in his game. I've seen enough from him already to comfortably say that I think he will be a starter in the league for many years with a chance to be an all star...which would be quite remarkable for a 51st pick.

4. ↑ Romeo Langford. 27 points, 5 rebounds, 6 blocks, and 2 assists in his first extended run as a professional.
5. - Tacko Fall. He looked good last night, showing a little bit of ball-handling, some good conditioning, and just making everybody wonder what he can become.
6. ↓ Carsen Edwards. It's been an inconsistent couple of weeks for Edwards. He'll torch people when he relaxes and finds his spots. Better defense would give him a chance to stay on the floor.
7. ↓ Vincent Poirier. He's had a rough go in very spotty minutes. He's moved well, but has no comfort on the offensive end right now.

Great idea. Hope you re-post this periodically with updates.

Also, pretty amazing that the team with the best current record in the NBA has so many interesting rookies. Great job, Danny!!!

He’s a plastic man with his ability to get in the lane and the ball at the cup. I think it’s going to translate at the NBA level. Exceptional body control and he makes it look natural, which for him it is.

Nice “Gant chart”

I think Carsen will be moving up, and down, the ranks this season. Since his main calling card is explosive offensive bursts, he seems to be pressing early in the season, trying to get his fix. He’ll settle into it soon I think, then have one of those games where everyone gets excited again, boosting him up the charts.

Waters is more like the tortoise to Edwards’s hare; he’s got a veteran steadiness already. These two guys are really good complimentary bench players, depending on what the team needs.

I think it's time to send Carsen to Maine for a bit. Give him some consistent minutes. Spend a little time with his buddies from summer who will hopefully help him get his confidence back. He is just flailing so far this season and needs a reset.

Javonte Green led the rookies in minutes for the first time tonight against Dallas...

...and played very well again.

So the Red Claws travelled to Boston to give the young Celtics an extra organized workout, which wouldn't have happened since the veterans couldn't partake in something like that with a game every other day.

That's clever, organizationally speaking.

I get Langford being up with the Celtics while the Claws are idle with Hayward hurt but, if he isn’t getting a steady diet of minutes with the big club then he should be down in Maine playing. Would much rather Romeo be playing JV ball then riding pine with the varsity

The word is that they're going to send him back, if Celtics are Healthy enough.
Red Claws don't play again until Nov. 15th.
