Over the course of this season, he shot less than 45% 3-10 feet away from the basket. He didn't take many shots outside of 10 feet, and when he didn't shoot well. He is also coordinated enough to draw fouls against Theis.

45% from two = 30% from 3. Sure, if you don't defend him, that rises a bit. But it won't kill us. I would rather see us simplify our defensive objectives, focus on keeping Bam from getting easy baskets underneath, and not worry too much about his midrange game.

Yep, if we're giving up something, it's those. Don't mind contested jumpers from Butler either.

Anyway, I don't look as Bam as a scoring threat on his own. You have to worry more about his passing game if you give him too much space. He can also be a lob threat and someone who cleans up the boards on those Dragic drives.

My memory is shot. Who's on the right of Colton Iverson (our right, his left)? And the one below him?

I’m guessing the guy below him is Shavlik Randolph.

I’d forgotten about Wilcox’s cup of tea with us!

Perhaps, but the Heat were a mediocre 9-9 this season when Adebayo finished with more than six assists. Better yet, they were 5-8 when he had between 7-9 assists.

By comparison, they were 22-6 when Jimmy Butler had more than six assists.

Granted this is misleading - at least several of Adebayo's big assist games came when Butler sat out - Butler is pernially underrated as a playmaker and we are probably better off with the offense going through Adebayo rather than Butler.

(eta - I figured I'd add that Adebayo had 8 assists in the one playoff game the Heat have lost this postseason, they are 0-1 in the postseason when Adebayo finishes with more than six assists)

Wait these were the bad days?

Looks in 95 - 2005 fandom.

At least our starting PG isn't someone that Mike would always joke "the security guards won't even let him in because they don't know who he is!"

Fake Chris Andersen? Beyond skin color and tats, do those two players have a single thing in common?

This is a good video discussing how they use Bam as the hub of their offense and how Miami's nonstop offball movement can confuse even the best defensive teams (we're in here quite a bit). 2:39, 3:39, 5:29 are prime examples of how sagging off Bam might not be a good idea because of his passing ability. You almost have to crowd him so he won't have clear vision and easy passing lanes to his cutters.

Anyway, I admire their offense and I don't think we've faced something like this in the playoffs in the last couple of seasons. Ball pressure, communication, defensive awareness, and crisp rotations are keys to keeping them in check.

Miami has been a challenge for us. But at least they don't have Lowry and Van Vleet on D. The Raptors were realy able to take out Kemba/ screw up our offense. We outplayed them by a lot and won by a little- because of that D. I don't see the heat doing that.

Still recovering from the awesome Game 7 W!
Preliminary Thoughts:
Miami is a very very good & very very well coached team.
They made short work of the injured Pacers & hugely upset the disjointed Giannis & the Deers.
Concerned about their dead eye rookie shooters Tyler Herro & Duncan Robinson (who played his freshman year at my alma mater [Williams College] & is the first athlete associated with this extremely ‘cerebral’, very small NCAA Division III school to make it to the NBA EVER) blended w studs Bam, Jimmy Buckets & Dragic, & backed up by Jae, Iggy, KO & DJJ.
Their D will not be equivalent to the Raps.
Come out from the get go w D intensity & offensive flow.
JT needs to dominate - as the budding Super Star he is.
Hopefully, Kemba has a rebound series as in Charlotte Kemba (& the Raps box & 1 & NOT a flare up of his knee was the reason for his poor performance in Games 6 & 7 especially).
And we hopefully have at least an 80% version of Gordo playing by Game 3 next Saturday - we REALLY REALLY REALLY need him back!

Assume NOTHING & do NOT look past them to the Fakers or the Clips.

CELTICS!
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

Return to Boston Celtics
