There are about 22 teams that Kemba can chew up, but there are about 8 teams that make Kemba look like a bench player. Miami and Toronto are two of them.

And damn bad play to end regulation. Kemba's ego made him give up the ball too late to Tatum, so by the time he had the ball, there were literally 3 guys in his path and he had to shoot a deep 3. If Kemba had given Tatum the ball sooner on the last play in regulation, Tatum might have been able to generate a shot going to the basket, and draw a foul.

The better defensive teams definitely slow him down but the last few games he also seems to be getting many of his normal high percentage shots and simply missing them.

Do people really think that Hayward, who hasn't done anything meaningful for this franchise in three years, is going to come back and save the day?

That is literally the exact opposite of who Hayward is. He's going to take longer to come back than expected (already happening) and then play passively with zero confidence. That's who he is. And then he might leave the bubble again to watch the birth of his 20th kid, because he has no fire in his belly for the game of basketball.

Yep. You can't count on a wildcard to help them. If Hayward plays great. You have to play like he's out for the year. It will be hard but they have enough.

Not making excuses for Kemba but his burst doesn’t look good. He looks slow sometimes.

Why do people keep saying the Celtics have the better team? That's simply not true. The Heat have the better coach and the best player...not to mention vastly better role players.

Literally none of that is true

Most coaches run iso in low-clock situations when they have talent of Kemba and Tatum's level. Even Doc (remember Paul Pierce?).

I personally don't prefer it.

I know but with Pierce, it was usually restricted to the last possession where this was about the last 4-5 possessions tonight.

Someone needs to ask Brad why Kemba was on Butler nearly every play in the fourth and overtime.

Man, these brutal losses are starting to normalize. Losing on a shot with 0.5 seconds, a doubt OT game and now this OT game. Sucks.

Kemba needs to play better. With Hayward out, we need him and he’s given us some real duds the last three games. He looked like he found his rhythm at the end so I’m confident he’ll be better next game.

Also, Brad cant open his bench so deep. None of our guys played 40 minutes during regulation— its the playoffs and we cant keep giving Semi 10 first half minutes.

He relies on shiftiness to get his shots off.

Are these courts being greased or something?

It's odd.

The offense late was just so gross, no movement, no misdirection. It’s tough to ask guys to continually go iso 50 minutes into a game, and expect them to be efficient with it.

Brad trusts his players too much. He won't take over like he did in his early days. Just chalk it up to Tatum's continuing growth as a primary. Oh well.

Can't lose three more games, if my math is correct.

SichtingLives wrote:For me this whole series comes down to Kemba (disregarding Hayward). If this is as good as he's gonna be we won't win. If he is all-star Kemba I don't think Miami has enough firepower to overcome it. But I am also of the opinion he is physically compromised and they just don't want to say it.

I like the kids game but with his knee appearing to be more and more problematic, looks like we bought a lemon.

I really don’t think it’s the knee....a lot of his shots are looks he routinely makes and knocks down. He’s just missing and then pressing. he just hasn’t consistently stepped up to the level of competition at this level and he’s been schemed out.

He had a few 3s tonight that should have been knockdown and a few other possessions where he got to his spot off the dribble but it’s not falling.

Disagree on all accounts. Tatum and Butler a wash. Spo and Brad a wash too.

Comes down to who plays and executed better. Celts have the ability to go to another level.

the ceiling of Boston is higher. Heat are at their ceiling Right now. Boston, we believe, has one more gear. And, the heat are good enough to force Boston to go to that level. Boston isn’t there yet.

That was a fun game, right? Who had a good game for Boston besides smart and Wannamker? Kemba was terrible, Brown was passive. Tatum was good then didn’t produce late.

Celts won’t get that from Smart every night, but ya gotta believe Brown and Walker will be much better.

Literally just saw them just now wiping the court again during Clippers/Nuggets.

No kidding and we're **** unhappy with that iso 3 ball by Tatum. How the hell did he design that play? :banghead:

That iso by Kemba getting blocked was worse. :banghead:

The worst part was why isn’t he taking the pull up jumper.

we kept taking multiple bucket leads throughout the game many times and it seemed like we would make a mistake that would lead to a series of miscues on both ends. we were so lazy at times and Miami made us pay dearly.

As bad as Kemba played, he did give us some clutch buckets down the stretch. He hit a tough floater to put us up 5 in regulation until Herro buried a tough three on the other end. Then he his his cardiac step back to give us the lead in OT until Jimmy just bullied Tatum to the rim for an and-1.

Gotta give credit to the Heat. Those guys just wouldn't quit. We hung two double-digit leads on them yet they kept coming back. I somehow don't think we can step on their throats, they're gonna keep rising up from the dead. We'll need to meet them at the clutch every damn game.

The end of the game takes some steam out of this for sure, but still, this gives an idea of the level of play he’s at.

Probably the same reason why Kemba was on Lowry for most of Game 6.
