Brown never touches Payton on his blown layup----FOUL on Jaylen to send him to the bench when he was cooking.

C's got frustrated and lost focus---GSW knows this and took advantage.

Jaylen pretty clearly touched him on the back. Whether this lightest of touches impacted GP2's shot or not, Jaylen was pretty dumb to put two hands on a shooter. Why do that if you are not even challenging the shot?

Nah bro.

What are you talking about, BK's right! Jaylen grazed him with his fingernails! If you're a ref, you call that in the Finals 10 times out of 10.

Payton Pritchard on his 4 defensive possessions in the 3 minutes he played in the 1st quarter.
Item 1: Poole open shot from 10 feet away from the basket.
Item 2: Curry open three (although this was in transition so maybe PP gets a pass here)
Item 3: Poole open three (could've easily been a layup instead)
Item 4: Curry blows by Payton without even needing a screen. Could've easily been a dump off to GP or the dunker's spot for a layup. Curry is just not a guy who can get by defenders without a screen. This is very disappointing.
All in all, 8 points given up in 4 possessions defended. Could've easily been 10.
He is not the reason we lost, but definitely didn't help.

He was horrible. White has been outplaying him for a while now.

That Poole half-court shot was really an indication as to who the basketball gods favored tonight. That shot demoralized the Celtics.

You just can't push a shooter who is jumping in the air for a layup/dunk. That's extremely dangerous and I'm ok with the refs calling that very closely.

That screenshot is misleading. They showed this from every angle during the broadcast and you could tell there was barely any noticeable contact, possibly none.

Dude, Jaylen NEVER touched him. Did you even watch that live? Bit of an acting job there by GP that fooled the refs. Ime should've challenged that, but it was way too early.

al wasn't much better. i did mention smart, he is the PG, the way our offense looked was mainly his fault. he made no real impact, in a good way, you are right about that. he never had a Marcus Moment. He has to be more forceful, didn't even check dray about the bs he was pulling.

We know smart, he'll take that personally.

I think he barely grazed him.
Gp2 didn't flop. Jaylen got his foot incidentally and that threw off his balance. He probably didn't even know he was touched on the back.

Jaylen didn't get his foot either, lol. It's just a bad call, end of story.

He tried several times to attack the rim and get to the line, the refs just swallowed their whistles on his drives often. Everyone else except White played terrible.

Not that Tatum is soft anyway, it's like you haven't been watching him these whole playoffs :noway:

Really?

Settiling for threes or fadeaway 2s when guys smaller than he is are on him.

He hates contact. Alot of guys in this league do and it's rare to find guys willing to pay the price.

Tatum's just not there yet OR he's not that guy.

It's OK to admit it. That's the way he is until he proves otherwise.

Lol, you seriously don't know what you're talking about.

Tatum got to the line 8 times, when it really should've been 12-14 because he got hacked and hit on most of his drives. He hit 6 threes with most of them over a shorter defender like GP2, and those are good shots and he knocked them down confidently.

Do you want him to bulldoze and force his way to the rim every single time? Who the **** do you think he is, Giannis? He's got a more all-around game on offense and we need him to space the floor, the problem tonight was no one else provided any spacing because our other shooters couldn't hit anything.

But whatever, it's pretty clear that your idea that Tatum "hates" and shies away from contact is already embedded deep into your mind. Go back to yelling at clouds in your lawn.

Would Jimmy Butler have quit going to the bucket?

Yes or No?

Tatum has so much potential. But that's all it is right now, potential

We might need Theis to step up a lot more in this series, with Time Lord looking really hobbled game by game. Problem is, Theis looks a step slower too, and his chemistry with the guys isn't there. He seems to fumble away a lot of passes to him.

Hot take!

Should this team stay on court during halftime or not?

I don’t think we can go double big, even if it means losing some on the boards.

Jordan Poole is a terrible person and I would not be sad if some team gave a guy like James Johnson a vet minimum to follow him around and foul him hard on every occasion.

can't play theis when curry is out there, he backs off every time, shots are like layups for him. i want him out there as the lone big too, no grant. i think our lineups need to have no double bigs at all. it would be fine if it was pre-injury rob.

Why bring Jimmy into this? Did Tatum quit going to the basket this game? When we were down 13 or 14 in the 3rd, there were two straight possessions when Tatum drove at will and got 4 free throws (he only made 2, but still). And last game, with defenders draped all over him, he kept driving and dishing to open guys. Sometimes it's not all about fishing for contact. The difference in this game is that GS's defense was better, and the spacing on the floor was terrible from the 2nd quarter onwards so it was hard to kick out.

I don't even know what you're arguing anymore, lol. You're making it seem like Tatum's some coward who does some needless acrobatics just to avoid contact, when he's been lowering his shoulders into dudes all year trying to get and-1s. I think you still see Tatum as the mantis that he was back in 2018
