Steph was a top 10 pick. I would never suggest getting rid of a first round pick bc of summer league.

FWIW, Davison went 8th overall in this mock draft that was done right before the season:

Wow, except for Holmgren and Banchero, the actual draft was waaay different.

JD slipped from the lottery to almost out of the draft. Interesting to see if/how much he moves way up in those "redraft" threads in a few years.

I think Espn had JD the 15th ranked HS player coming out. You just never know, NBAdraftroom had Nzosa as the first pick a year before the draft, I remember Bassey bing a top 3 pick at one time also.

They won't be able to hold a proper practice without a 10th player.

The word is Begarin yes, Madar no. Madar has a commitment to the Israeli national team.

One of the SL Coaches will stand-in. But wow, it really looks like they might go with 9 players?

Rough start for Pat Riley's latest batch of undrafted stars. Javonte Smart finished 4/20 in 21 minutes. Must be fun to play with him

An exhibit 10 deal only costs $50K. Do a solid for some kid who can tell his grandchildren that he played with Hall-of-Famer Juhan Begarin.

So much to like about Trevion Williams on the offensive end, particularly his passing and low post game, but defensively he is challenged. Not very athletic, or quick. Perhaps paired with a rim protector like RWill III he could see time on the court. His defense is worrying, though, and he has yet to face NBA level competition, which will expose his defensive weakness in a hurry. Can his offensive talent outweigh his defensive liabilities? We'll begin to get a picture once SL starts. Really rooting for him because he does have some special skills.

I kinda hate that we have to wait so long for a Celtics game.

thanks for this. My 2 observations are, the Kings' Rookie K Murray played well in his first NBA game and how the hell does GS have 19 SL players and we only have 9???

I only saw a few minutes. I figured Smart must have started the game red hot, since he was jacking it up every chance he got. Turns out, not so much.

Exactly. I top scored for my team this week, went 3/7 from deep. And I'm just 47 years young. I'd LOVE to dine out on my time warming a bench for the Celts Summer League team...

Meh, I'd rather give the minutes to guys that might have a NBA future for us. If you bring guys in for summer league there's the expectation that you give them enough time to showcase themselves so they can have tape for the G-League/Europe/Australia at least. The more guys you bring in, the less time on the court your best prospects are going to get as a result. Like Goden State has Dustin Sleva on their summer league team and I say this as someone that saw him play a bunch of games with Paris Basketball and I actually enjoy watching him play with his throwback game but I will be shocked if he ever sniffs a minute of NBA action in his life. So what's the point ? Why not give those reps to Wiseman/Kuminga/Moody or one of their three rookies ?

I'm really looking forward to seeing JD in action, I know he's raw and a ways from contributing at the NBA level but watching his athleticism in summer league should be a blast.

Looks like we have at least one Coach, on the Summer League Staff. I wonder who the others are?

I'm assuming Mazzula will be head coach, like he was last year.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)
