I was remembering today how people were making fun of us back when there were the rumours of a Paul George and a Kawhi trade and Jaylen's name was being discussed as a piece of a trade packege from us, saying "LOL they want to send a 5 ppg player who has a low ceiling". Now look what he has become and how much we are glad for never trading him.

20 is right about where I’d have him, but wouldn’t argue against a few spots in either direction.

Hat.... tip to Jaylen. Top 20 is pretty cool, even though lists are what they are.

Scoring out of a P&R as a ball handler:
Jaylen 1.14 PPP 94 percentile
Jayson 0.83 PPP 44 percentile

4 possession per game for JB
5.4 possession per game for JT

People like stats dont like those, book It

A good look for a player people gets mad when he has the ball in his hands

Yeah people hate the team being so good.

Weird how the Tatum/Jaylen comps always seem to come from the over the top Jaylen fans.

Except that is hyperbole and never happened. Jaylen was a promising young two-way player, former #3 pick that had flashed plenty by then. He was already averaging nearly 15 ppg when Kawhi was still with SAS and rumors began. Nice fan fiction though

That’s one of the most laughable lists you’ll see all year. Considering the Ringer staff is clueless and there’s so many Celtics fanboys there I’m kinda surprised Jaylen isn’t top 15 tbh

There's some questionable selections definitely (Irving #66, Brook Lopez, Bane, Edwards under Mikal) + recency bias with Ja, Zion, Mathurin and Shai but I don't think it's such a bad list.

I'd like to know you intel on why it is "laughable".

Also, shotout to Siakam, I haven't followed the Raps that much and I don't know about the eye-test, but that statline looks poppin
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

Really? You use those stats every time, litterally every time. In general board you said JT is better at everything excluding midrange, right?
You use those stats for your narrative about Jaylen but when someone, once in a while, make the same, you attack.
Good move!

Jaylen has been good running PnR so far this season, hopefully he keeps it up. You were the one who brought Tatum up unprompted.

I don’t think it’s crazy to say Trae Young, Paul George, Jimmy Butler, Lebron James etc. are better than Jaylen. However, I would argue that none of those guys I named are having better seasons so far than Jaylen. In terms of performance, JB is top 15 this season in my opinion so far and therefore on track to get all NBA and therefore more of a lock to stay under contract in Boston.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Does Jaylen making all-NBA allow us to offer him more money than other teams on a third contract? Sorry my knowledge of some of these rules is low

I’d definitely take him over Trae, and Butler for the regular season. I think he’s on the same tier as PG, LeBron plays no defense at this point but he’s still so damn good offensively lol.

Either way, top 15 or 20, Jaylen has been excellent. I think Zion is going to present a problem for Jaylen with regards to all nba, but it’s hard to expect him to stay healthy.

By a ton lol, and we’d be able to sign him this coming summer as opposed to the next.

Any cap relief? Or at this point we're so deep into luxury it doesn't matter?

He is getting his dues though lol, he’s being talked about as a possible all star game starter, he’s ranked between 19-25 on all the major sites, multiple posters here have said they were wrong about his ceiling. I also said I thought Tatum had a ceiling of top 5-8ish player, but he’s proving that wrong as well. That’s called adjusting your opinion, it’s a good thing.

Zion is proving to be a problem for everybody and is so impactful when healthy. I hope his handling by Pelicans ends up with similar results to Embiid’s in Philadelphia. He is good for basketball in general and one of the most unique and fun players to watch. If he plays 60+ games he could even be in top 5-10 discussion for MVP.
