White holds Embiid to just 4 fts. 4 3's ad 5 big time blocks and a ton of other defensive plays. Just sonned Embiid for the umteenth time. Big 4th by White to carry us over the top. Just huge win. Bench in general was great. Kornet with some nice minutes. Clearly we can trade Porzingis and Brown now.

Also. Joe was in his bag tonight. Genius move to switch Jrue onto Embiid and trap with Kornet to force the ball out of his hands.

That's Embiid's most glaring weakness - getting double teamed. He's not quick enough to escape a trap once it is sprung on him.

Can't believe the Sixers dumped Al because they thought he couldn't space the floor for Embiid.

Sixers were just being wicked.

They just signed Al so that Al will not give Joel problems in the playoffs.

From a basketball point of view, it was not a good fit.

Personally I think al can fit on any team.
Sixes lacked shooting with Butler and Harris.

It was 99-98 with over 5 minutes still left in the game. The Celtics outscored the Sixers 18-9 rest of the way. White and Tatum (scoreless first 7 mins of 4th) were directly responsible (scored or assisted) for all 18. But make no mistake, it wasn't your-turn-my-turn crunch time offense of years past. Ball moved as they carved the Sixers defense. Drove and kicked. Everyone was making the right timely passes to the next open guy. They were well-spaced and they weren't rushed in their execution. On the other end, they made it tough for the opposing stars, just getting enough stops to finish them off. Horford with the two clutch time blocks!

Just a guess: Joe anticipated Nurse will play keep-away from Tatum again as in the first matchup so he put more ballhandlers on the floor. Neither Brissett/Stevens can space the floor also. Banton in particular was a nice call. He made energy and hustle plays in the 1st quarter even if he couldn't make a shot.

Clown behavior in this thread. When we bust ass in the first Q, multiple comments went flying about being great without jb. Cs start losing and a comment about JB fans wanting this game to be about JB. 4th Q rebound/win ends with JB being the drag of the team in multiple posts. Fun times when most JB comments are from people who don't like him but his supporters are the problem. Comedy without trying.

Honestly really weird how certain folks feel a need to focus on bashing JB even when we win.

Odd Stat: Every Celtics starter attempted at least 8 threes. Not sure that's happened before. Everyone had a green light to shoot. Maybe a byproduct of the extra ball movement?

Sixers got out-math-ed in this game. 21-point advantage from beyond the arc even as Sixers shot ball better from 3. But apart from that, Cs really played well outside of the 2nd quarter.

It's incredible how much better the ball moves without Brown and also how roles are just more clearly-defined. Offense goes through Tatum like 90% of the time without having to worry about letting JB get his required turns.

Gave it to White for winning the White-Melton showdown lol, but Tatum had a great all-around game and Horford was unbelievable.

Joe is a good coach. Idc what anyone says. He got his flaws and it still improving but the man knows the game and how to bring a group together, that’s clear to me.

Next big task for Joe - make Jaylen watch this game as much as Joe watches The Town during the week.

We need Jaylen to buy into being exclusively a finisher & that’s it.

Everybody that needed to step up in this game stepped up. Great team win, really.

Very proud of this win. F'cking League Pass led me to believe we had lost in advance so it was a weird watch. Granted, Philly played 2 nights in a row but they're a much improved team and didn't make it easy for us (Melton, Harris and Roco played well). But mostly, we limited Maxey and Embiid to only 40 points so that won us the game.

Of course great performances by White and Horford, which is always pleasing. Was a bit mad at Tatum for a while but he compensated for it in the 4th. We played well down the stretch. Key succesful challenge on the Maxey 3-point shot. This win should boost the team's morale, by beating one of the hottest teams in the league without our 2nd and 3rd most important players (was that proven tonight? Guess so).

Voted Team/Joe & White. Guess there's no way to pick who's your VC and who's your CP when voting hehe. Cheers fam.

Big Al and White came up huge. Story of the game our starters played their starters and their bench played out our bench, but in the end the starting unit came up big time in the last minutes of the game.

I like the confidence Holiday and White have given this team. You always feel comfortable whenever these two have the ball.
