I never compared Joe to Kerr.

That was a general statement.

As much as I love the Celtics, I will not say Joe is better than Kerr.

So your comment wasn't a backhanded jab at those who diss Joe?

So when you said the coach can only go as far as his players take him it's not commentary on Joe?

Like I said, it's a general statement.

Just like a number of Celtic fans keep saying Spoelstra is the best coach in the NBA today.

But if you look at the Miami Heat record, doesn't feel like Spo is the best coach right now.

This is why you probably shouldn't be making claims on any coaching.

I agree.

To me, the coach is not a big of a deal, unless they don't get along with the players.

That's why I don't get the blaming of Joe when the players screw up and the Cs lose.

Joe designs or calls the plays, but the players are the ones who will execute.

If the players can't execute then that's on the players.

Players make the coach, not the other way around.

KC Jones won 2 championships with Larry.
But KC never won anything when he tried coaching another NBA team.
