Not sold on Philly improving. Seems more like a desperation signing because their other players were leaving and they had to spend the money before cap space disappeared. Don’t get me wrong Horford has been a very good player but his decline has already begun and the fit is awful.

Did you watch the finals?
He made 58 year old Gasol look like prime Duncan.
JVG had a good line during the Finals. He said Boogie was running like Dirk. Not prime Dirk, but old man limping Dirk
He came back early from a torn quad.
What did you expect?

While we may have gotten Kemba, Sixers got Horford, and Kawhi is probably going to choose between raptors or lakers so a lose-lose situation regardless. Kyrie and Durant in Brooklyn. The Atlantic division is by far the strongest now
And why won't we be right there with everyone else? Please are really sleeping on this squad.

How? He’s definitely impacting DLo, but the league? LeBron is 35. AD is injury prone. Chemistry and so forth. **** the Fakers.

It also pushes Harris to the 3 (or off the bench).

Neither SImmons nor Embiid averages anything close to 48.5 minutes/game.

Yeah but Philly and Toronto fans are by far the worst. How could he want to play for them? That team will go nowhere. All that talent will translate to nothing.

I am hopeful of some Favors buzz. He can do a lot of what Al did on defense, and is not an absolute zero outside the key on offence. Can't space the floor out to the three though.

It's a pretty smart move when you consider the Tatum and Brown extensions coming.
Yes it is good long term. With Horford off the table definitely will be below the tax.

Lakers still need to fill out 4-15.
Melo would fall in towards the top.
Fakers won’t have much money if they signed leonard unless Melo wants to play for chump change.

Whoa, I just caught a ticket on ESPN saying they worked a S&T with Kemba and Rozier.
I need a cap expert to explain this to me like I'm 5... I'm guessing this opens up a MLE'ish slot without being an actual cap exception?
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
Horford signing with the 76ers did us no favors. Wait a minute....

The Chief wrote:I know everyone is bemoaning the departure of Al Horford. And yeah, we'll miss his toughness and wild stuff like his three point shooting.
BUT...
Today we got rid of our locker room problems (Kyrie and Terry), avoided a super terrible contract (Al), and signed a top scoring guard who averaged 26 ppg last season and is a multiple sportsmanship award recipient.
It's a breath of fresh air tbh. I'll take our chances with Kemba, Tatum, Brown, Smart, Hayward over the hellish nightmare that was 2018-19.

600k. That’s why Ainge and Zarren are desperately working on sign and trades

Different player but he’s six+ years younger and 10 pounds heavier. How’s his lateral movement, can he guard on the perimeter?

They lost JJ and Butler.
Redick was a defensive liability. Replaced him with a younger Richardson who is a 36% career three point shooter. Not great, not terrible.
Butler was a weird fit with the rest of that roster.
Having seen Horford play with us the dude is a difference maker. Will be a great locker room presence for them. Defensively him and Embiid is scary together and we all know Al is a talented offensive player.
Might only be for a year or two before Horford declines significantly. Still pisses me off he goes there.
He will have a big impact mark my words.
Yeah I agree. I hadn’t realized they had gotten Richardson too until a few minutes ago.
Sixers will be the favorites to get to the Finals out of the East barring injuries . They are loaded.
Yep. You can argue Butler is better than Horford but I think Horford fits in better, allows Harris and Simmons to have the ball more.
They were also minutes off beating the eventual champions. No guarantee Kawhi even stays and the Bucks just lost Brogdon.
Massive opening for Philly as much as it sucks to say.
