**** the Lakers and Lebron.

How did you feel about the 2008 banner?

Homegrown is always more satisfying, wholesome and fullsome then buying championships. Always. My attitude was always to use draft picks and build a homegrown team. I'm old school and that appeals to me the most. And why I lost patience with many fans here that simply have no patience. It could be generational. Younger people have grown short attention spans and instant everything. It's the way they are I guess for better or worse. Mainly I think worse. All those draft picks, with patience I always felt would pay off in the long run. Younger people just don't know or believe in the "long run".

I always want my team to win so the '08 group was a pleasant surprise to me. But even so I'm not as ardent regarding that group. I absolutely hated people here that just seem to want to thrash and try to build fast, dirty, cheap and quick. I was against those wanting Kyrie, while I appreciated the opportunity to firsthand witness the best NBA ballhandler I've ever seen. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how much more complete a player Ray was than the shooter I thought he was. Those that recently wanted Harden pissed me off no end. Still I hate Pitino who seems to've bought into the quick thrashing of personnel, to my teams detriment. He was perhaps a product of his youth and environment being surrounded with kids with the short attention spans I mentioned already and wanting everyting now.

Well now it appears my way and my thoughts are panning out now. Danny hit on at least two homegrown draftees and if this new Smart stays in his lane perhaps three. I look for Pritchard and Neismith to come along. But I'm patient while too many celts fans are not. WOuld've liked to've given Romeo more of a chance, but I'll concede to those in charge to know more about him than I do. We'll see how he does elsewhere perhaps.

I'm really really liking this current celts team. They have all the scrap of the IT teams with way more talent. Lets see if they can keep this incredible unbelievable hot streak going.

Too many here wanted to buy a team to compete with GS, who I frankly thought would dominate longer than they did. I can appreciate Curry as the best pure shooter I've ever seen while thinking him one of the biggest punks I've ever seen in the NBA. And whatever they won with Durant IMO is cheap and worthless and him going to them was the biggest punk move in NBA history IMO. He lost big points with me for what he did. Almost as bad a mercenary as Labron whose legacy with me will always be tainted. jordan was the greatest I'v ever seen.

Really, really, REALLY hope Robert is OK. Not a lot of time left to heal up. We cannot compete without him.

I'm overdue to ask this question, but what's the status of "banner 18 boogie"? Was/is there a version for this season yet?

Read on Twitter

This team's SRS has kept climbing since this awesome two-month run started. With 7 games left to play, it's now the third best SRS in the last 35 years.

Image

We're playing more like a 60-win team. Maybe even a mid-60-win team considering how crappy we started the season.

Ime still needs to find combos that work whenever Tatum sits. That's still 8-10 minutes per game in the playoffs with Tatum off the floor.

Very tiny sample (89 possessions) -- Smart/PP/Brown has +24.6 net rating
Semi tiny sample (257 possessions) -- White/PP/Tatum has +24.9 net rating

This seemed odd to me too. No idea if its a good sign or bad. We should have answers soon enough.

If rob is not okay I'm convinced we sacrificed our souls for that 08 title and will never win another one in our lifetimes.

Sounds silly but the pain honestly gives me some comfort. Hope it is something like tendinitis or even a small meniscus tear. If it were just straight gimpy that'd be a much bigger worry.

It's even more insane when you look at 5-man units:

Horford-Smart-Brown-Tatum-Williams: 443 minutes, +24.6(!) net rating

The only other 5-man combo in their zip code is Beverly-Russell-Towns-Vanderbilt-Edwards with 412 minutes at a +13.6 rating

Where our starters are at is statistically where GSW's prime "Death Lineup" stats are. Just obliterating folks, particularly defensively. That 5-man is a 94 net rating group. They basically turn every opponent into the bench lineups of the Thunder on offense.

All of this goes to say - for the love of god, I hope Timelord is OK.

I know a lot of people are down right now, and you will scream at me. But Semi is a free agent and we could use a back up big.

I've been bitching all morning so may as well keep it up lol. The Celtics had a great win last night over a red hot team and assumed the first seed... and no one on television even seemed to notice. On NBATV last night it was the Nets game, the Suns game, the Luka game, the Lakers game etc etc and then in the last segment they finally mentioned that the Celtics are #1 in the East.

On ESPN they showed about 20 seconds worth of highlights from our game.. and 10 of those seconds were devoted to KAT dunking on Theis. Then today on ESPN they went to Woj for a depressing update on Rob... and Malika Andrews is standing there with a huge smile on her face the whole time.

Grumble grumble.

This is good and all, but more importantly, what color shoes was LeBron wearing? Did they give an update on that and any future projections on colors?

Losing Rob sucks but we’ve got to have that next man up mentality.

Celtics are not done repeat not done.
Celtics will adapt and play for Rob.
Rotation will tighten. Still have a shot.
Watch for RW3 to return.
Objective remains the same.
Celts are still a championship caliber team!
That's the Way of the World
