Its nice to see Wiseman getting burn in Detroit.

Means they have either farm teamed us Stewart or are currently farm teaming wiseman for us to trade for this offseason.

I think Bagley is the odd man out there.

Duren is a freak, who they just traded for on draft night. They just traded for Wiseman at the deadline.

I have heard that the Pistons and their fans view Stewart similar to how the Celtics view Smart. Like the heart and soul, brings the toughness, the energy, the heart. So Stewart is probably not going anywhere.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Teams above the second apron cannot use the taxpayer mid-level exception to sign free agents. That exception is the only tool tax teams currently have to pay free agents above the minimum salary. Such contracts could last up to three seasons, and this year, they could pay as much as $6,479,000 in starting salary. This rule would have prevented four free-agent signings in the 2022 offseason: Danilo Gallinari to the Boston Celtics, Donte DiVincenzo to the Golden State Warriors, Joe Ingles to the Milwaukee Bucks and John Wall to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Teams above the second apron cannot sign players on the buyout market. The exact definition of "buyout market" has not yet been revealed, but it will likely apply to any player who is traded and waived during the season or waived while sacrificing a portion of his salary.

Celtics could be very limited adding players this year with the new CBA. Sounds like the Celtics won't be able to use the taxpayer MLE and won't be able to add a buyout player. Could make the Celtics very active on draft night acquiring an extra 2nd round pick.

Hypothetically.

Brown and a resigned Grant Williams for Siakam and Trent Jr and a pick?

Smart/Pritchard
White/Brogs
Tatum/Trent Jr
Siakam/Gallo
Timelord/Horford

Nah; I’m not trading brown unless I’m getting a better player back (ofc we’d have to add stuff). Pick doesn’t interest me that much at this point. Even if you argue siakam is better; he’s a worse fit with Tatum imo. Trent is kaka

Not to mention that Siakam is older. If we were to trade Brown it would be better to get someone who can stay elite during Tatum’s prime. Main argument for Durant trade was that he was locked up and that Brown would walk (and that he is significantly better when healthy and would improve odds of title for 1-2 years). Main argument against trading for Durant was age and injury risk - why do it when you have a sure title contender already? Same is true with Siakam…..why take that risk? If you can get a better younger player like Luka for example then you consider it, but otherwise you are messing with a sure thing IMO.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Look guys, IMO, Brown is going to get all pro this season, and sign a full max extension with the Celtics this summer, or at the soonest point he can. Boston would be stupid to trade him and offering him the full max will show him that he is wanted here, which is all he said wants.

Brad has made a point of signing the top 8 (Tatum, Smart, Rob, Brogdon, White, Horford, Hauser and soon Brown) to at least the next 2 years after this one. Grant, if the price is right, may become the nineth one. This allows Brad to move pieces around the fringe with the rest of the roster. Muscala, Galllo, Griffin and Kornet are special in what they do, can be extended each year but not really needed to tie up long term. Any of those four can be extended, moved, or just not resigned as needed. Champagnie, Kabengele and Davison all have the chance to play their way into long term bench options. Pritchard is probably gone this off season, as is Grant if his asking price is too much. Of course, it would be preferred if we can resign Grant to a reasonable contract, but if not, any way of combining him and Pritchard may get us some flexibility. With the new CBA rules Boston faces in signing players due to salary issues, and not having access to the taxpayer MLE, a TPE we may get from moving Grant, may carry more weight than in the past. Kabengele and JD are waiting in the wings to possibly step into Pritchard and Grant's roles, if they are capable of doing so.

Good grief. Trade deadline has passed. We can't just enjoy our playoff run (as a contender with the 2nd highest odds to win the title with the team as currently constructed) without these endless posts about trading one of our star players who's entering his prime?

Well considering that Pascal is already an All-NBA forward, 3-level scorer and playmaker whose contract has the same # of years left on it as Jaylens yet makes about 7M more, it might be Jaylen +PP or something like that.

Jaylens value is much higher than Siakams.

Younger
Better rounded skills
Continuing to improve
better scorer from distance
and IMO a better defender.

I dont think anyone other than Raptor fans or Brown haters would trade brown for Siakam straight up.

Not sure how you can justify the claim that Jaylen has better rounded skills. Siakam is a much better defender and passer, whereas Jaylen is exclusively a scorer and a fairly one-dimensional one.

Jaylen is also not improving. He is scoring more this season but 1. his points per 100 possession and per 36 minutes improved by only a small amount so his scoring increase is 80% due to playing more minutes and 2. his efficiency relative to the league has fallen and 3. the entire league saw a scoring increase and the scoring leaders saw an increase that was far more drastic than Jaylen's increase. It's almost 100% certain that Jaylen's "improvement" is actually a reflection of the current NBA's scoring environment and not an improvement of his skills.

If anything, it's concerning that Jaylen's scoring efficiency relative to the league has gotten worse every season for the last 4 seasons.

Nobody thinks Jaylen is a better defender than Siakam other than the most casual fans.

I do remember Jaylen Brown completely shutting down Siakam in the playoffs. Fact!

Also on Siakam v. Jaylen--while Jaylen has been the better three point shooter for his career, his three point shooting has really cratered this season and it's a downward trend. I think it is an area of concern and something to think about when projecting his future value.

A Timberwolves employee recorded Kyle Anderson walking to the locker room: “Y’all kiss his ass way to much telling me to focus. The **** is wrong with y’all. Y’all got a decision to make this summer.”

Seeing how nobody will take Rudy.... Zoya and I can find a place for SloMo somewhere on some team.
