Not all of us..some of us knew he would be a franchise caliber player.

It’s weird that he has to be at MVP level to start getting slightly more positive remarks here. Jaylen has worked hard his entire career and has come back year after year with improvements in his game. Sometimes he made huge leaps like the year Hayward got hurt or the years he earned first team all-NBA, max contract and finals MVP. Usually guys who do that are idolized in Boston and often overrated by media and fans. Look at the love Hugo is getting as a great example.
At his current age and injury history it would be normal for an all star to level off. Yet he has taken his game to the next level - yet again. He is proving that he is not just a guy who puts up numbers but also is a guy that you can build a team around. He has a track record of raising his level of play in the biggest moments in the playoffs - something that many of the more celebrated NBA stars never seem to do.
