Not all of us..some of us knew he would be a franchise caliber player.

It’s weird that he has to be at MVP level to start getting slightly more positive remarks here. Jaylen has worked hard his entire career and has come back year after year with improvements in his game. Sometimes he made huge leaps like the year Hayward got hurt or the years he earned first team all-NBA, max contract and finals MVP. Usually guys who do that are idolized in Boston and often overrated by media and fans. Look at the love Hugo is getting as a great example.

At his current age and injury history it would be normal for an all star to level off. Yet he has taken his game to the next level - yet again. He is proving that he is not just a guy who puts up numbers but also is a guy that you can build a team around. He has a track record of raising his level of play in the biggest moments in the playoffs - something that many of the more celebrated NBA stars never seem to do.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Some guys just have it, and JB has it. We saw glimpses already when he was a rookie, forgot which playoff game that was when he skyrocketed for an important rebound.

He won ECF MVP and FMVP. He did not win those by accident.

Some one said it in the game thread but that last corner three totally look like Jordan….not Walsh.
Jordan Walsh goes top 10 in a 2023 redraft.

tbh, most of those posters got banned responding to bait like this, lol.

I definitely thought max-worthy but balked at super-max. No question he is worth the super at this point.
It would be super handy to have that difference to build around he an Tatum, though. :)

Unban them. I know you have the power
I apologize for the things I have said in the past.

Fwiw Dj saying they were banned for taking bait is inaccurate. They were the baiters full stop. They followed us across boards and PM's and made duplicate accounts to amplify their harassment. It's wild to me to frame them as victims lol.

Edit
And chrisab123's post isn't baiting.

JB is leading the NBA in scoring for the month of December. He is leading a roster that on paper looked like a lottery team. Many thought he would be exposed but the opposite has happened. If there is a silver lining to JT injury this is it. JB has made the leap and now the Cs will have 2 legit and proven franchise players going forward.

Last year as defending champs we started out 3-0. This year we started 0-3. Both teams have gone 19-8 over the next 27 games. Kind of unbelievable that this roster could match last years team given that they replaced KP, Horford, Kornet, JT and Jrue (4 all stars and the guy Wemby backs up) with Simons, Garza, Minot, Walsh and Hugo. It’s a testament to the coach, Celtics culture and Brad but also to the unbelievable season JB has had so far.

It’s nice not to have to read one of those banned posters tell us again how his sophisticated analysis of +/- and on/off stats show that Brown is barely a replacement player.

Brown passes Pierce for most consecutive 30 point games in a row

With 30 points against the Pacers, Jaylen Brown passes Paul Pierce with his 8th consecutive 30 Point game!

Larry Bird holds the record with 9 consecutive games.

I got no power, lol. Even if I did, they’d all get themselves banned again. :D It’s not like they didn’t have multiple opportunities to tone things down.

My comment was just having fun. Everyone is so serious. It obviously went both ways. But let’s also not pretend the folks they were arguing with didn’t enjoy needling them as well.

If we're talking about CouchGM, he wasn't banned for bashing Jaylen every 5 seconds (although it sucked). If I'm remembering correctly he was banned after getting really mad about the live action Little Mermaid movie and posting an offensive political/racial screed in the OT thread lol. After multitudes of other violations we had to pull the couch out from under him.

Sorry, I shouldn’t have started this. My bad. I thought maybe we were at the point we could joke about it. Clearly not. This’ll be my last reply.

I was just talking in general. There were several posters who were critical of JB that got banned. Not for the opinion, but for attacking others that didn’t share it. I wasn’t trying to backseat mod. They basically made it impossible to let them continue after many, many chances.

You're fine man! I only said that because I thought it was pretty funny how he finally got himself banned.

I should have caught that from the quality of your last sentence. Well played as always. :D

I think Brown has shown a real leap in his shot selection and decision making. It's really impressive to see him attack the defense and get quality looks. I think he has surpassed Tatum in his shot selection in particular.

Last season, I would get frustrated watching Tatum do his little dribble dance and jack up a three. It's like he's on the court with KP, Dru, Horford and Pritchard and this is the shot? Why not play basketball a little and get a good shot? I am enjoying seeing this JB led offense that seems more about getting good shots.

Also and as an aside: the play of the game yesterday was Brown getting the steal and hitting Garza with the behind the back pass for the fast break lay up
