Re: Omer Asik Trade
I find it hard to believe that after spending 48 hours working the phones Morey just so happened to put those tweets out. After such a public disaster brewing around him why the hell would the All Star ballots be a priority for him? Morey's smarter than you guys are giving him credit for... at the very least he thought about the potential hubbub this would cause and said, "uckf it, I'm gonna send this out anyway."

Yeah, a much more realistic explanation is that we are all out to get morey because he didn't trade us a player in a trade we don't even know the details of.
You're funny. I'm sure every board on RealGM is reacting to Morey's tweets like us butthurt Celtics fans.
To be fair, why the hell would fans of any team other than the Celtics, Rockets and 76ers even be considering checking Morey's Twitter account right now? Just for kicks?

So it wasn't a subtle dig at other GMs? Same basic snarky thing.

Let`s make this happen!
i don't understand the courtney lee hate. yes he was brutal last year but this year he's been exactly what we expected last year -- solid D, hitting 3's. 7.4 ppg in 17 mins is pretty good, it's just we don't have the mins to give him.
honestly i'd rather do this trade without lee if possible. bass+pick for asik.
it's not hate but why give someone 6 million a year when you dont even have minutes for him? Rondo's coming back taking away many of these minutes.

It depends what Philly wants for Young. Apparently Morey was hot after Millsap, Hawes or Young so I'd like to think he would be satisfied with this deal. I'd even swing Motiejunas Philly's way if they wanted.
To Boston Asik and Richardson
To Houston Thaddeus Young and Courney Lee
To Philly Bass, Motiejunas, Keith Bogans and a 1st
A bigger version of this could involve Miami with James Jones, Joel Anthony and a 2nd rounder coming to Boston while Jason Richardson goes their way since they need another guard. Or we could just deal with them separately at the deadline.
Do we have to get Richardson? Ugh.
No. We can easily remove Richardson, Lee, the Miami's and Keith Bogans or Bass from the deal. My whole thought process was sweetening up the deal for Philly allowing them to get one expiring, one big man, Bass and a first while getting rid of Richardson. It would also be a way for us to fit Lee into the trade.

That wouldn't be possible. The guy is not only a prick but also an idiot who loves deflating the value of his players.

I see them have zero interest in Bass. I think straight expirings and pick(s) would be the ticket with Philly these days. Bass might help them win 2-3 games they have no interest in winning.

The only thing I'm wondering is that if Young demanded a trade weeks ago, why didn't we hear his name come up in these talks at all? Kind of odd, unless they're really doing a good job of keeping it under wraps.
Maybe he asked the front office and kept it behind closed doors but got frustrated with the no deal and decided to throw **** in the fan. Either way, better for us I would like to think. Now it's two teams in need of deal. Let's hope nobody wants to give any value for Young and both teams get desperate..

Yeah, I'm not even gonna try to read the guy's mind, but at best, it's just totally tone-deaf.
It's like making a mom joke to your buddy... right after she breaks her arm and goes to the hospital.
Or maybe it isn't. But whatever it is, it's just awkward and poorly-timed. Guy is kind of a doofus, IMO.

I could care less that the trade didn't go through. In fact, I am ecstatic that it fell through because I'd rather keep Bass, Lee and the 2015 Clippers pick (this was the rumored deal we were offering) instead of trading for the Turkish Kendrick Perkins.
Asik isn't going to put us over the Pacers or the Heat so I would rather keep those assets and try and make a better deal down the line.

Guy apparently just followed Millsap on Twitter in the last day or two, or something like that?
Which I am sure the Hawks organization really appreciates, if so.
I just don't know what dude thinks he is doing, tbh.
