Re: 2020 NBA Draft Thread
None of our projections matter because the coach will not play anybody who’s not a top-five pick.
More Wanamaker and Semi! Yay!

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Thread
Ainge better be drafting at least 2 shooters (a 3 and D guy and a pure shooter) in this draft. That would help against the dreaded zone.

Azubuike reminds me of Drummond. Notice his draft age (prior to 9/1). He's a 20yo senior.

If that's the case we should swap all our 1st rounders for high 2nd rounders + future 2nd rounders and scout undrafted Euro players.

There are only three top-5 picks on the team and one of them has barely played the entire playoffs. What do you even mean?

Kanter wasn't drafted by the Celtics.
What I mean is that CBS typically won't play rookies significant minutes if they aren't a top 5 pick (Smart was #6 so close enough). Instead, he relies on "vets" like Semi who bring absolutely nothing to the table rather than playing someone like Romeo during the regular season to see if he can contribute to the rotation in the long term.
Compare Romeo's average minutes to other rookies from the same class got regular season run (some who played a lot in the playoffs) like Herro, Thybulle, Bazley, and Clarke.
To me, it's a pure development failure on the part of CBS.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Thread
That's not true at all. Semi played more his rookie year than any year since. Langford has been hurt all year. Rob Williams plays minutes when he's rarely healthy. Who on the team doesn't get minutes because of draft position? No one. What a terrible take. Edwards doesn't play because he has sucked. Waters doesn't play because he's on a two-way. Langford doesn't play because he can't shoot and everyone ahead of him on the depth chart is just much better. Herro is better than Langford right now so of course he plays. The other guys you list play on crap teams or aren't injured all the time. If the Celtics sucked I'm sure they'd love to just throw Lagnford out there the 10 or 15 games he's been healthy.
Grant Williams closed out the Raptors series and he's a rookie taken at pick 22. Theis was a key player as an undrafted rookie. Stevens just plays who the best players are regardless of draft position.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Thread
The draft will fill some holes.
14-Lewis Jr/S. Bey/Nesmith/
26-Ramsay/Maledon
30-BPA
Also expect for Poirier, Romeo, Kanter and Edwards to be shopped for something better in a Consolidation of assets trade.
Kemba/Lewis
Brown/Smart
Hayward/Ramsay
Tatum/GrantW
Theis/Timelord
Ramsay is a must imo.
6foot4, 6foot6 wingspan. can play either wing spot. Will get after it defensively. and shot 43% from 3 in college. an Ideal Marcus Smart running mate off the bench.
Pair him, ideally, with Kira Lewis Jr, a super speedy point guard with a solid outside stroke and we have a guard trip off the bench that can change games with defense, speed and 3 point shooting.
Lewis
Smart
Ramsay
I love seeing those 3 names together.

Who this? Is he our savior? I don't like the name if we're being honest.

If he can run around screens and shoot like DuncRob, I'm totally fine with him not dribbling the ball. It's just that name is such a low-hanging fruit if he underperforms.

Smooth jumper stroke, hyper athletic, long arms, seems like a good swing for the fence at 30th.

I want to know if the athleticism translates to basketball skills on the offensive end of the court. Can he dribble and create his own shot?
