I don't think this bad patch has much to do with Stevens or Smart. It has to do with the immaturity of Tatum and Brown, who thought that the game would just come to them after being named all stars, and with Kemba, who is in serious decline and who is one of the reasons why they give up so many points.

As for Smart, look at the great tip in at the very end after Tatum missed the contested layup. Those are the kind of plays Smart makes. It did not result in a win, but it put them in position to pick up a lucky win. Without that play, they had zero chance.

And stop blaming guys like Williams and Ojeleye. The are losing without Ojeleye, unless you want to blame him for getting injured on a hustle play.

And where the hell is Tristan Thompson? Did Ainge just send him home? Might as well have. I wouldn't party with the Kardashians for 10 million a year, but I might do it for 15 million.

The parts are just not a good fit.

Marcus Smart may look stupid with the Celtics, but put him on a contender and he'll become a different player.

Tatum and Brown are 1 on 1 guys.
Not ideal but they're the future of this team.

Kemba is a scoring PG who's used to being the #1 or #2 option.
That's why he's having a hard time adjusting to becoming the 3rd option.

The Celts were #5 in assists per game in 2019, Kyrie's last season with the Celts.

When Kemba became a Celtic, the Celts were just 25th last season and 24th this season in assists per game.

Danny Ainge chose the wrong PG.

Boston's best success came when they had 2 Glue players one was Horford and definitely GH. we don't have anyone close to that. the natural "glue position" would be a PG (though it doesn't have to be) getting rid of Kemba's shoot first style for a L Ball or even a R Rubio would be a good 1st step forward.

It's a shame the fanbase only seems to like you if your dropping a empty 35 points in a loss .... if we had Hayward instead of Kemba or Brown we would be a better team period.

The reason Brad Ainge and Smart and random bench guyds are getting so much hate is no one wants to point the finger at the 2 guys who are responsible for the losses that are piling up: Brown and Tatum. And with good reason, they are so young. You can't reasonably expect them to have the maturity to get us wins night after night. But the team has 2 all stars and some teams have none. Scoring 25 a game clearly isn't enough. At the end of the day the results are mainly to do with them. Win or lose. Not saying we should start hating them, just that we should accept it and stop hating the team all around.

Nice to see the fans back for the 2nd game booing their home team that lost by a few points, was without their starting center, had 3 new players and are in a rough patch of the season. Way to go Boston fans!

Dont know how this continued downward spiral doesnt cost someone their job. At what point does ownership realize that you cant keep the same creative and expect new results.

Sometimes you lose. We are around .500 after a very fast rebuild and good seasons the last few years. We already have a fire everyone thread why don't you just go complain over there Karen.

I will say that Ainge is partly to blame. The team is too damn small. He had drafted (and signed as free agents) too many small guards. This team needs rebounding, especially with TT on an extended Spring break.

Ainge drafted three small guards in PP, Carsen Edwards and Waters. We are not sucking because of Edwards and Waters. They don't even play.

Yes but he could have drafted useful players with size instead. I certainly would have rather a Bol Bol + Moses Brown as a good project vs a definite no ceiling little guy.

We wouldn't have a single win more if we replaced Carsen Edwards with Bol Bol.

We'll regret not trading for Rudy Gay. We could've had something special.

This season is irredeemable. In the offseason, I'd like to see the Celtics:

1. Move Walker at all costs.

2. Do everything to get Beal. Smart, Brown, + multiple 1st rounders. Whatever it takes. Tatum is a #2. We need a true #1.

3. Have somebody else draft for Danny.

4. I do think Brad deserves one more year, on account of his previous "success."

5. Try to move or cut everyone else except maybe Pritch and Timelord. We need to get rid of any leftover stench from this year. Start with as clean a slate as possible.

This team was designed for Tatum and Brown to have growing pains.

Kemba as the veteran all star scorer and Smart as the "back bone" of the D and role player on offense have BOTH been detrimental. This is totally on them and on the coach for not benching these two. Fire Stevens, but the new coach is going want these two players moved (unless they play better) before Tatum or Brown.
