Me: Jaylen’s extension was a great deal and saved us money from the inevitable max he was going to get as an RFA

You: Stidham is just as good as Cam and Cam isnt a top 25 QB

Me: Stidham is PR and Cam is a top 25 QB

Going 0 for 3 is pretty tough so I get how it would cause you to say that you’d take Foles and Fitzpatrick and Minshew [and Baker, and Jimmy G and...] over Cam cuz he had a bad game coming off of not practicing for two weeks and 4 lineman got hurt. Plastic fans melt.

From another thread. Last I plan on speaking about this, but maaaaaaaan, that post is like getting run over by a bus while you are taking a victory lap on the last day of the Tour de France.

Okay, here's the quick math...

If we clear everyone from the books except Tatum, Brown, Rob, Grant, Romeo, and Aaron, we'll have cap space for a max FA in 2021.

Obviously if we keep Smart instead of Jaylen, that opens up more room for picks and stuff.

Brown and tatum are going no where.

That literally leaves smart and kemba.

You're gonna need to create space by dropping on of them. Which really only makes us worse doesn't it?

You dump Kemba (next offseason) and have max cap space and can re-sign Smart still using Bird Rights.

Yeah some people can live with reality and others need to gaslight themselves and everyone else into a fantasy land of rainbows and pink hat homerism.

I don't think one is particularly better than the other. Just different personality types.

That's pretty oversimplified. I'm pretty pragmatic but not going to knock Ainge for circumstance.

I'm not knocking Ainge for anything.

Average drafting, mostly great trader, average free agent finder to perhaps good (Theis was free), great coach hiring.

It's only been the worst luck of any franchise in perhaps any 10 year period with IT and Hayward that has stopped him. Otherwise he fully pulled of 2 championship rebuilds.

This situation again... 30 million for 4 years.... get the **** out of here. Ainge obviously never saw it coming because it's about as stupid as you can possible do. No one should do that. That shouldn't be reality.

Not if we dump Kemba next summer.

I was going to say why wait so long but it's only like six months.

This is why we have the problems we do on this forum.

"See things my way, or you're delusional."

"And while I'm insulting you to your face, I'm going to tell you that you are the problem."

"What? I'm not gaslighting, you're gaslighting."

Hope the Celtics get Millsap in a S&T with Denver using the newly recent Kanter $5.0 million TPE. Give Denver a couple of 2nds from the Poirier trade.

Use the full MLE on someone else.

Millsap 2 years and $10.5 million

Hopefully Smart gets 5-10 more shots a game to make up for Hayward's offense.

A bit of a subject change, but I think it’s pretty telling that Gordon hasn’t come out with any statement, players tribune article, or anything like that.

This is all we can hope for. as I said, we have no need for a 31 year old pg on this team as currently constituted.

Both is fine. I'd like that roster. Just gotta be team option for Milsap's 2nd year.
Don't think Baynes would go for that, lol.

Not really. It is early, and they literally have like a week to move down there.

That might be the only way to salvage this offseason.

Yet Millsap is still 35 coming off one of the worst seasons of his career, so the fact that this is what we have to get excited about really magnifies how bad Ainge screwed up with the Hayward situation...
