That's if they don't get smoked before that. I think OKC would give them all sorts of problems.

They very well could and I hope they do, as I want to see Russ vs. KD, but the Thunder have been too inconsistent all year for me to place those kinds of expectations on them.

I dunno, they may be one of those teams that has to struggle a few games/series early, but I don't see anyone but fully healthy GSW knocking them out. I picked them over Toronto, since I'm leery of Steph coming back at full strength. If he does, GSW takes them. If not, it's Houston's title to lose, imo.

Poor KAT, he should really demand a trade to the Celtics for scraps.

Yeah. I threw $100 on them coming out the east & another $100 on Cavs Dubs pt4.

I too think they beat Indiana. Shots should drop for them. Cle will prob go up 2-1, lose game 4 & take games 5 & 6. But I respect the hell outta Indy. Very easy team to root for.

Toronto don't have the balls to get past LeBron. We have the balls but w/ injuries I don't think we have the talent. Philly definitely has the balls. Will they be able to be composed enough? Mia dont got the talent. Wash got the crazy bark & no bite. Mil I think loses to us, but that'd be a good battle.

So Harden scored 44, Capela scored 24 and Butler and Towns COMBINED to score 21, and yet Houston only won by three? Weird.

You need 2 things to have a chance of winning a championship every year.

1) A system

2) Elite 1 on 1 talent

Having only one doesn't cut it in the later rounds of the playoffs. A system is invaluable because it increases your margin of error significantly so that you can consistently set up your elite talent to have the energy to finish the game if they need to. Elite 1 on 1 talent is the most expensive and valuable asset in the league. In the last 5 minutes of the biggest games, systems always breakdown. And this is when the stars shine which is by far my favorite part about this sport. Who can make a shot/play with near perfect defense on you almost every time down the floor? There are maybe only 4-5 players in the league at any given time that I would consider are Tier 1 in this category.

We have one of them. And we have a system. That's why Kyrie left the Cavs because he knew that they had no shot against a team with equal or better 1 on 1 talent AND a system. And to be honest that Cavs 2016 championship was an aberration. Kyrie and Bron had to go God-mode to do something that literally has never happened before and likely never will again.

This playoffs sucks because we have no Kyrie and Gordo, but I'm at least really encouraged that we are truly on the right path towards longterm consistent title contention.

They are young, it takes time to learn to win, plus I am not sold on Thibs as a coach. He seems to grate on his players. Some guys respond that style, others curl up in the fetal position.

One thing I have noticed, great talent aside, I think KAT is a bit soft. He prefers to play 25' from the hoop, and, (I know his numbers are good), his interior defense seems a bit weak.

I don't know how each of you watches the game, (I don't get commercials, the feed stays in arena), but the last Boston v Minnesota game Towns dunked hard on Baynes. Great play. But during the ensuing timeout, I swear Towns looked like he was going to cry. He was pouting and he had that look of a spoiled 4 year old who didn't get his way.

I know my example is anecdotal and subject to my interpretation, but it struck me as odd.

For once I agree with Simmons. He carried the ball twice and traveled. Typical Harden layup.

On the Ringer's NBA podcast, one of the members said that the rumor around the league was that KAT was a player who was more concerned about his stats than he was about winning or losing. Based on his talent level and athleticism, I believe this to be true. Think about it - he's got Thibs coaching him, plus he had KG mentor him as a rookie. You'd think that KAT would be able to transform himself into a useful player on defense, but at times it looks like he just doesn't care.

And yes, I do agree with Chuck in that Minnesota is filled with low basketball IQ players. I counted at least 3-4 occassions where KAT found himself matched up with Eric Gordon or Chris Paul, yelling for the ball on the low block. On one of those instances, Jamal Crawford decided that him matched up vs. Deng was a better matchup, and proceeded to clang a 20 foot jumper off the dribble.

I really, really hope Miami beats Philadelphia tonight. The 76ers hype right now is beyond nauseating.

It's completely warranted. They've been playing great basketball without Embiid and they have a bright future with 2 potential franchise cornerstones. Who else is there to hype in the East right now? We're decimated with injuries, the Cavs have been disappointing all year, and the Raps are boring with a mediocre track record in the postseason

Just because it's warranted doesn't mean it isn't annoying. LeBron hype is also warranted. Doesn't make it any less nauseating.

Eh, I guess. Nothing you can do about it though. I'm sure many fans found the Celtics hype annoying when we were on a 16 game win streak.
