LOL, Russell used to do block shots like this for 40 min a game for the entire season-- and he tipped the ball up and retained possession instead of swatting it out of bounds.

Do not trade this guy. If he can mature under Brad and Big Al this dude will be a beast for a long time.

I view his ceiling as Capela, which is pretty good, actually. The odds are he won't reach that ceiling, but you never know. He's certainly fun to watch already.

Not to take too much from Russell. But other players were shorter then, and there weren't as many teams.
It's a different ballgame now.

Capela is alright. That's gotta be Williams floor, though.
His ceiling is obviously, much higher.

P.S.:
I never saw Capela Block AD.

No, we can’t get excited about any current players now because guys we had 60 years ago were amazing. Matter of fact, screw Tatum too, he’s got nothing on Larry Bird.

No, same ballgame. Russell would be just as dominant today. Players on average were shorter then, butr guys like Chamberlain, Walter Dukes, Ray Felix and Nate Thurmond were not. Actually, players on average have been getting shorter over the past 7-8 years because you don't have to be a 7 footer to be a good 3-point shooter. Average weight is also going down.

Different time eras. Russell played at a time when there were like 8-11 teams.
It's a vastly different game, today.

Yeah, when Russell played, the talent was less diluted.

Breaking news guys. 28 games into Robert Williams rookie season and we can safely determine he’s not better than Bill Russell. Lock the thread up!

Less Diluted? There were 80 Players. That's too restricted.
Now there are as many as 450, from around the world.

Eh, drawing from a much smaller talent pool back that.

There is no way a real human can possibly believe this. What was the talent pool in 1960? Today it's several billion humans. In 1960 it was like 50 million at best.

Not that it matters much, but the world's population in 1960 was about half of what it is today. The talent pool couldn't have gone from 50 million to several billion humans.
