Anyways, decent recovery by Ainge to get Kemba and Kanter. This looks like a 50 win team.. So basically

Kanter, Williams <<< Al & Baynes (Really need R. Williams to step up)
Tatum, Theis, G. Williams 19-20 > Tatum & Morris 18-19 (good riddance chucker, and Tatum should be better)
Brown, Hayward, Ojeleye 19-20 > Brown, Hayward 18-19 (Brown should be better & hopefully Hayward too)
Smart, Brown, Langford 19-20 > Smart Brown 18-19 (Brown should be better & Smart's about the same)
Kembra, Smart, Edward > Kyrie & Rozier (Kemba's more durable and isn't insane, and good riddance to Rozier's chucking)

If Kawhi doesn't announce anything today, then he's going to the Lakers.

1) if he was going back to the Raptors, then there would be no better time to announce it then today - Canada Day
2) alternatively speaking, he won't announce that he's leaving the Raptors on Canada Day. Uncle Dennis knows what he's doing.
3) there are no more stars left to pair him with for the Clippers

True but to me that’s somewhat incidental. I’d much rather have a good defensive big than offensive one with how the team is constituted. But we got a great deal with Kanter. Basically a “prove it” contract for a guy who has already proven he can score and rebound. Not bad.

The ideal scenario of course, is that Williams becomes a defensive monster so that Kanter complements him well. Fingers crossed.

The clippers have a roster just like the raptors. Very underrated roster. They won 48 games last season.

They took GS to 6 games with KD with zero go to guy or star except one of the best 6th men ever in Lou.

It's nearly impossible.

His salary, not enough to match many quality players, to little to equal some of the bargains.

Need to find a team that is, like Boston, sitting out the offseason and may want a deal just for some minor media attention, or find one that added a French import and feels they need someone around to talk to them.

One idea, if AInge signs someone for an exception and then adds Yabu and Semi, in a few months that can be combined and maybe bring in a player who can contribute at $8million or $10million or $12,667,886.

Clippers and jerry west has done everything right yet the lakers did everything wrong and could still get kawhi. Unreal.

The NBA is the worst in major league sports.

One thing I will say about Yabs is that, is it even possible to move him off the block? Pity he didn't have another 3 inches or so, would be quite useful then.

I read that he wasn't meeting Toronto until Tuesday. Would it be just to tell them no? What's sad is he's really screwing over two franchises by waiting. I really want one of them to be the Lakers, but it's feeling unlikely.
