I could be over analyzing of course, but Danny clearly LOVES him.

Cs management have said they think Tatum can become a 25 ppg type guy.

That is Paul Pierce territory...or better.

He stays.

I take them at their word they really like him but are we sure they aren't trying to get the Pacers to take him instead of the LA pick?

George isn't a star?

Nope. Not on the level of those guys. Don't hear his name in MVP talk.

George isn't a star?

He is no Curry, AD, Larry Bird or MJ.

He just is not on the level of a real star.

It's dangerous to cross the streams here.

MJ had Scotty and Rodman

Bird had McHale and Parish

Curry, has Thompson, Green and now Durant and they all have each other

AD has no one currently with no contention in sight

And PG13 had a bunch of guys who amount to nobodies in the big picture.

My point is that it's a team sport where you field 5 guys on the court at the same time. One guy can't offset 5. If you put PG13 on the C's next year and this said lineup stays healthy? You already know Cleveland's wearing diapers next year. And we may stack up athletically to GS.

My other point is, Goerge is a bad ass mofo. Get him some players on his team and he's the goods x 2 cause he's already the goods by himself.

That's hair-splitting. Paul George in the right situation absolutely could win an MVP. He's been carrying terrible teams.

If he's here next season and we're the number 1 seed again, he'd almost be favorite

What do people expect out of PG when he's unmotivated on a bad team? Clearly he didn't want to be there this season.
The 2 ECF runs solidified him as one of the premier players in the league. He actually elevates his game in the playoffs by A LOT, just like Rondo.

While we are talking in circles...

I hope the people that were jumping up and down that Danny didn't make a move at the deadline, dealing "it's only the LAC pick" or "throw in the MEM pick??" in an effort to make a minor upgrade like PJ Tucker or worse, Serge Ibaka. A LOT of people on this board wanted Danny to do that.

Now Danny sits here loaded with so many first rounders that it seems very unlikely that a team can top his offer for PG13, and the flexibility to easily carve out space for a max contract free agent while he's at it. Oh, and the team made the ECF.

Now multiply this by every deadline and draft since this team got competitive, and appreciate the patience displayed by Ainge and his team, to have us sitting where we are now.

There is a real chance he just traded the #1 pick for Paul George and take your pick of a top 5 big man next year too...

PG has the potential to be the best player on the court in any given game or series. He is without question a star. PG with the right guys around him can do serious damage. You can split hairs and say he isn't better than this guy or that guy but him not being a star is just nonsense.

Paul George is a top 5 player in the league. Anyone denying that hasn't watched enough bball the last years.

Get It done, Danny

Ya Id probably put

Lebron
Durant
Kwhai
Davis

Ahead of him and then I'd put him right there with anybody in
George/Cp3/Griffin/Heyward/Butler/Kyrie/Westbrook/Curry/Thompson

I'm sure I'm missing some people but he's got a pretty good argument for being there at # 5

When he cares he's a complete two way player

Any chance you can come out of an offseason with substituting Bradley & Crowder with Hayward & George you do it 10/10 times.

Fine with parting with AB/Crowder one of Smart/Rozier and LA pick and a Boston pick (he would re-sign with us anyway)

Curry is great but he's not a two way player
