Please tell me someone did not say that on ESPN? And when the hell will that stigma go away. It's really ignorant and sloppy commenting if so.

It's so unfortunate that he didn't get laid off. I think I might even accept Dilfer back if it meant Jones could go. It's that bad.

It's not when talking about Boston. Boston is the most racist city in the world. Just ask anyone in mainstream media. It's a popular "fact" now. LeBatard collaborated the claims. You had Michael Che on SNL claim this too and Marty Walsh apologize on behalf of Boston to all of these people. So if they sign Hayward no one will be talking about how he fits in on the roster but how he fits in city wise if you feel me.

I know every trade situation is different, but is Paul George's trade value comparable to that of Kevin Love before he got traded to the Cavs? Expiring contract, expressed discontent with current team, trading team looking to contend, etc. However, Kevin Love was younger when he got traded, top 3 in PER, and was 2nd All-NBA team. PG made a late surge during the regular season but might not make any of the All-NBA teams. He's probably a top 10-15 player right now?

Here's what Minny got for Love (plus Shved & LMAM)-- top pick of most recent draft (Andrew Wiggins), top pick of previous draft (Anthony Bennett), vet starter/rotation player (Thad Young from 3rd team), and $6M TPE.

Is he worth the no.1 pick? If so, what else do the Celtics need to add on top of that?

Gordon Hayward is one of the best small forwards in the league and just made an All-Star Game.

Anyone who even hints that the Celtics are going after Hayward merely because he is white absolutely should be fired on the spot.

I agree but **** ESPN keeps employing them. Even going as far as to comment on the summer of Kevin Love saying the only reason they wanted him was because of that.

If it all goes to hell and we fall out of the top 2 and miss out on the big fish in free agency, how about this?

Nets pick plus a resigned Amir and James Young for Butler.

Grizz pick, Smart, Zizic, a resigned Zeller and Jerebko for Marc Gasol.

IT/Jackson
Butler/Rozier
Jaylen/Crowder
Horford/Yabu
MGasol/Olynyk

He's going to be more expensive over the long haul but Bradley reinforcing over and over again he's a much better player than Crowder.

Sign and trade Olynyk, Jerebko and whatever else you need for Hayward.

Sign and trade for Blake sending out Crowder, Rozier, Young, Mickey, Zeller (last three guys to a third team).

Draft some badass.

Roll out with the following:
IT/Smart/Jackson
Bradley/Green
Hayward/Brown/Nader
Blake/Yabs
Horford/Amir/Zizic

Love it but I'm not convinced either of those trades would be accepted by the Bulls or Grizz. I do think trading the Memphis pick back to Memphis could get their attention and make them at least consider it.

You forgot about Bradley and ideally we keep him and he starts with Butler at the 3 and Brown off the bench. Dude has been huge for us this series. Would prefer to keep him over KO.

The window just snapped shut. You have to be think this team can beat Golden State next year or you don't do this trade because this team isn't outliving Golden State.

I think I'd rather see what Zizic, Tatum, and next year's pick can do with the team we have. Work out from a younger front court. But man, your scenerio sucks. If we don't get at least 1 of Fultz, Hayward, or Jackson, I'll be pretty underwhelmed.

my current ideal situation is to trade Brooklyn 17 for Zinger, sign Hayward. Zinger allows you to continue the compete now while building for the future model and plays for well below market rate for 2 more years.

IT - AB - Hayward - Zinger - Horford
Roz - Smart - Brown - Crowder - Zizic

I like that a lot. I think we'd need to ditch Smart's salary before the '18 season so we have room for IT and AB. But Brown should be pretty up to speed by then and BK '18 will be in. That should be fine with BK '18 coming in and Brown up to speed by then. And I think Zingis' contract doesn't come due till Horford is off the books so that should work out.

Nice. I like it!

And whatever Zingis says publicly, he seems to be really irritated with NY. The number 1 pick might be their ticket to save face and move on from last year's embarrassment.
