WOnt be that hard, would it? They tried to dump him, so I dunno if Ainge even wants him...

Unlikely. Okafor could have been tossed into our pick swap (in some way) if we really wanted him...

I mean it's pretty much getting reported that the Celtics don't want to sign and trade Amir for Okafor. Which is absolutely crazy. Kind of makes sense he's a traditional Big that doesn't shoot 3s.

If the C's were to take back Okafor from an Amir S&T, that would not clear his salary from the Cap. The C's need to clear all (or almost all) of their non-guaranteed contracts to sign Hayward. After they sign Gordon, assuming they do, the C's can look at adding some cheap players in trade.

Even then, I doubt they go for Okafor, though.

If Hayward signs I'd love to see Danny target Marc Gasol. Trade 2017 Celtics and their first rounder. Salary match with crowder and KO. Memphis clearly needs to hit the restart button, especially if Allen and green leave in free agency.
Then it would be awesome to see The Celtics use the MLE on Pau Gasol.

KO has to be renounced to sign Hayward.

Are you positive about this? I'm pretty sure that they have plenty of cap space to sign Howard with cap hit from KO. Regardless, do you think Marc is a realistic target or am I pipe dreaming? We could easily put rozier and another decent young prospect like Nader in

I'm not sure about what it would cost, but it would likely be much more than your proposed offer in my opinion. He's not a rental like PG. Beyond that, having another 'poor' rebounding big would drive people nuts despite being great at almost everything else. The hot takes would melt steel.

Yes, I am positive. It's been discussed many times on the board.

I do like the idea of trading for Gasol, though. I don't think it's a pipe dream but I don't know how available he is or what the cost would be.

The qualifying offer has already been given to Kelly Olynyk. He just needs to not accept it.

Denver just sign Paul Milsap for an unbelievable $30 million per year. They want cap space to sign George Hill and need to more Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur to do so. If we strike out on Hayward, how about Nader or Mickey for Faried and a first round pick?

But he won't. He's going to make a lot more money than that this year. He's waiting to see if the Celtics get Hayward (in which case the QO will be rescinded) or not (in which case, the C's may or may not open long-term negotiations with him).

Yeah, seems like he could be had for cheap, but no one wants him.

Gallinari off the market. Another one bites the dust.

Not yet, he's all about the doe. We're a team who can offer him the most.

Sounds all but done going by this...

The Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets and Atlanta Hawks are working on a sign-and-trade involving Danilo Gallinari and Paul Millsap.

Gallinari would join the Clippers on a three-year deal starting at $20 million, while Millsap will join the Nuggets on his previously agreed upon three-year, $90 million deal.

The Hawks will receive Jamal Crawford and likely Houston's 2018 first round pick from the Clippers.

Well, gentlemen, the question is-can ante zizic outperform amir Johnson on day 1? Not asking for much, just 6+ rebounds, and a little toughness.

It is Hayward or bust, and if we land him, I think AB and Crowder are moved.
