No thanks.

Besides if Jaylen goes to Portland chances are good he's leaving the following year for Atlanta or Miami. Not sure why anyone would bail the Celtics out of that scenario other than Miami and Atlanta. Maybe the Knicks but they have nothing the Celtics want. At least Atlanta has Trey Young and Miami has Bam and or Herro.

If I am Brad Stevens I'm building around Tatum and Brown and everyone else on the roster is available as well as multiple draft picks. Everyone available.

what else can be done around those 2.

They have had

a DPOY
All Defense team members
6moty

young role players
vet role player

defenders

ball handlers

Shooters

what is the next iteration of players around them going to be?

We lack size in the front court

And we lack desire in the heart of Tatum and Brown

I agree with that. But location and weather plus the ability to market yourself puts it lower.

Celtics got 9 made shots by everyone else not named Tatum/Brown last night before the scrubs came in the game with 4 minutes left. A lot more can be done around Tatum and Brown.

The front court needs help pretty bad. I love Al, but he's near cooked. Rob hasn't looked much better this year. I just don't see the avenue for how we improve there. If we're also just going to be stuck with Joe and free lance offense, I'd say we also badly need a real PG. Sigh.

Last night, like Kenny and Shaq stated, is probably jsut an outlier.

I am looking at the entire seasons efforts here.

We have a playmaking PG on the roster already, Center is the biggest need.

And Dame.

You keep thinking trading Jaylen Brown is going to bring back a star. It's not. Brown is 1 year away from free agency and can go wherever he wants to go. No team is going to give a haul and watch Brown leave at the end of next year.

Best you get for Brown is role players and draft picks which means you are taking a step backwards.

Celtics are in a position where they are hoping Jaylen Brown reups.

I assume that he would be re-upped as part of a deal.

He isnt walking away from max money wherever he goes. He will take it then demand out. No one is walking away from upwards of 40 million dollars on their contract. That is ludicrous.

He can get that 40 million from multiple teams- he has no incentive to commit long term to any team he’s traded to which makes him a flight risk which then limits his return.

The only team that can offer him his super max is Boston.

Relax dude. We're not even out of the playoffs yet.

We're down 3-2. Last year's team was down 3-2 in the 2nd round too.

Tatum and Brown are just entering their prime and have already led this team to an NBA finals. Would have won it, but we were facing a team with a top 10 player of all time, the greatest shooter ever, a team whose players and head coach had already won 3 titles together.

No need for blowing the team up.

Even if we lose to the sixers, so what? Celtics and sixers are probably the 2 best teams in the league left standing. So we're a top 2 team in the league, just like we were a top 2 team in the league last year.

Tatum and Brown are still just 25 and 26. Most stars don't win a ring till they're at least 27.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Return to Boston Celtics
