Re: 2020 NBA Draft Thread, Part 2
Brogdon was passed up on because of his injury concerns and medical report, which have turned out to be correct.
But I know that wouldn’t fit your narrative or factor into wondering why a guy of Brogdon’s talent would fall to the 2nd round.

Hampton or Maxey could not slow the Bam for one second, while Achiuwa has the potential to match Bam.
I will pick Achiuwa over Hampton and Maxey.
But...Maxey rise to #10?

So far the guys who have confirmed planned workouts with the Celtics are Precious Achiuwa, RJ Hampton, and Aaron Nesmith. Teams only get 10 workouts total for the whole draft process. Seems like trading up isnt likely as of now unless we hear about other prospects projected to go higher working out for us.

Or there's a lot less leaks going on this year. Easier to keep the process secure remotely.

True but it's the prospects during their media availability who are naming the teams they worked out for. Okoro, Haliburton, and Toppin all had media availability today and named the teams they worked out for and none of them listed the Celtics.
I guess we'd have to wait for Okongwu, Pat Williams, and Hayes to really have a complete picture of the workouts that we had tho.
Or we could just be waiting for the last 3 days before the draft for workouts

Even factoring in the injury concerns, he was under drafted. His role at UVA never allowed him to demonstrate the offensive skill he has proven to have, though I think at least some of that developed thanks to his hard work after getting drafted.

Yeah there's a lot we don't know. Who knows Celtics may have made some prospects sign NDAs before their workout, considering what's happened in the past

Yeah sure, but I saw Tyrese Haliburton at the Boston airport, in a meeting on his laptop. Didn’t get a clear look, but there was definitely some green clover-shaped design going on. Trade up confirmed.

Ainge, also said it wouldn't be ideal to add 4 rookies to this roster.

Yeah I don't recall him ever being talked about.
Glancing at his nbadraft.net capsule, there were questions about his ballhandling ability, and about his shot mechanics and his ability to hit the 3 in the NBA (he was at best a passable shooter in college and supposedly had trouble shooting against length). And he was doubted on due to his age and relative lack of athleticism and less than ideal lateral quickness.
Perhaps the key segment of his nbadraft.net profile was: "Plays with great intensity and a high motor on both ends of the court, which helps him make up for average athleticism…Competes at a high level…Very smart all-around player…His wingspan and strength allows him to play bigger than his height on both ends of the floor…Experienced leader with a high basketball IQ…Enters the draft as a very accomplished collegiate player…Is known to have high character…Plays the game the right way …"
Could have said similar about FVV, who went undrafted.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Thread, Part 2
Hmm if those measurements are correct and smith is really 1.75 inches taller that pushes him back above Precious in my mental rankings, their 4th flip flop. He needs to be able to gain weight but smith has legit 5 height at 6'9.25 without shoes. Paul Reed measured well too, I like him at 26 or 30 of We go smaller...Still like Oturo who is not listed here but supposedly was 6'10 without shoes and 7-4 wingspan. Azibukie at 30 would be nice as well so long as we know what we are getting, he and nnaji are oppsite, Azabukie, great low post defender and rebounder, cant play past 10 feet, nanaji can't block a shot but can shoot and is quicker, both are limted but at 30 both would be good picks.

He is not, but if he works his ass off he has the tools to be an all star. He is the potential pick, he could be Paul George, but he aint yet.

Saddiq Bey worked out for the Celtics.
Celtics have approached Atlanta for #6. Has to be for Gordon Hayward.

The Hawks arent trading #6 for Hayward when they can just sign him outright
