That's why I said Cs will never win a chip as long as Smart is a Celtic.

via Fred Katz:
In a world where Nikola Jokic's on-off stats have always been off the charts, he's hit a new level this season.

Nuggets have now been 31.8 points per 100 possessions better when Jokic is in the game, according to Cleaning the Glass. Of course, that leads the league.

You hit +30 net in ON/OFF on starter minutes, you automatically win MVP. No questions asked. Or GM and/or coach gets fired. Or both.

The Lakers losing by 41 is more satisfying than the Celtics winning by 10 tonight.

The Hawks are 5-1 so far against the top 5 teams in the East. What a weird team.

There’s some talent on that team. 5 game winning streak. Good win against the streaking bucks.

Jalen Johnson has been pretty good for them this year, DeAndre hunter is lowkey flirting with a 50/40/90 season (48.6/42.2/89.6), #1 pick Risacher hasn't exactly been incredible but he's at least been playable as a 19-year-old rookie. Thats a pretty decent core of three 6'8 wings. Dyson Daniels has been a good pick up as well.

They don't have their first rounder this year, but they do have the Laker's first unprotected and the Kings if its outside the top 12. They have some stuff to build with.

Fun fact. There is only one team in the NBA that has ZERO wins against teams .500 or above.

The 76ers are 0-13 against such teams this year.

Jokic fatigue, wrap it up for my guy Tatum!

I’m joking (a little ), I’m not sure he wasn’t supposed to win it every year the last five years. I wish this was one of the years where he won it a couple times in a row already, just because I want Tatum to win. Jok deserves it though. DOMINATION!

By comparison Giannis was +8.7 and +13.6 in his two MVP years, and Embiid was +10.9 in his MVP year. Tatum is +7.3 this year, which is still very good. Jokic is just on another planet, its hard to imagine him keeping up his current +31.6 all year, but he was +24.8 and +23.7 the last two years.

Now partly this is because the Nuggets are pretty limited offensively especially with Murray being bad this year, but still.

Jokic is the type of guy easy to root for, he’s not problematic. From limited knowledge I will admit, because I don’t search for interviews or news on him. He just does his job and that’s it that’s all. I can’t say he doesnt deserve MVP if he keeps his play up, again, he probably should be on a long streak right now, I simply want Tat to win so they can put some respek on his name! Thought he’d get it from being a champ but the media is still stuck on hater!

MVP TATUMMMMMMMM, please?!

I really like Risacher. I think he will get better.

Cavs host Nuggets tonight. Aaron Gordon listed as PROBABLE. Should be a good game.

For the BOS v. MIL game thread, whenever it goes up: Giannis, Middleton, and Prince are PROBABLE; Beauchamp is QUESTIONABLE for the Bucks.

If you like stats, follow Owen Phillips on BlueSky. He's got some cool infographics on there. Since I am destitute and only connect to the internet through my mother's neighbor's wifi, I don't subscribe to his substack where he likely has more cool stuff.
