Simons, Hauser, Baylor, and multiple 1st round picks for LaMelo works.
Even with LaMelo, the Celtics will still be a 1st apron team next season.
So getting Ball is doable, but like you said, there's a health risk.
Not saying we couldn’t do it financially, show me why you’re sending them the least of our players (so far) and why they’d accept it? I like Baylor and Hauser, but I’m a Celtics fan. Simons was never long for Celtics so I’m not speaking on him.
We’d have to do a hell of a lot to be bad for the picks we give to even matter. Even having one Jay, we’re managing to stay afloat for the playoffs. We’d have to have a rash of injuries to lose over the next few years. Our picks wouldn’t be as valuable vs someone else’s.
Likely couldn’t afford him. Picks may need to START 6+ years from now. Lol.
Yeah, it's an unlikely scenario as all the Cs really have to offer is multiple 1st round picks.
Firsts are wonderful, but with either Jay healthy the next few years, you’d be looking at bum picks. 10 chances to make the playoffs? Yikes.
What’s the first pick out of the lotto, 16? No one wants 5 16th picks (at best).
