we're going to play them together and confuse the hell out of opponents.

Just to talk about minimum guys, Ainge please sign Thomas Robinson. I don't know why but i've a soft spot for this rebounding machine.

Wings: Tatum, Brown, Hauser
Bigs: Porzingis, Horford, Kornet

I wouldn't mind Robinson for the deep bench, but we're also going to need someone of at least borderline starter quality at the 4/5.

Not that our front line didn't need a housecleaning, but it's a bit scary that our only holdover at the 4/5 is Horford. Zizic will help but not as much as some are hoping - or at least not right away. Jae can play a bit of small ball 4, but he too could be gone. Tatum isn't playing much of the 4 until his body matures/strengthens.

Ainge has obviously addressed one of the team's two major needs. Now he needs to address the other -- and I'm confident he will. That has to be the next move.

Bradley + Crowder for Vucevic and a future first works for me. Sucks to lose both AB and Crowder but we still have 6 guys (IT, Hayward, Rozier, Dmart, Brown, Tatum) for 3 spots. One of the few plausible scenario where we get a starting caliber big man.

Trade Hayward keep 30 million. Insert Theis. Same player much cheaper. All white guys are the exact same player. Right?

Bradley + Crowder for Vucevic and a future first is really good value for both Orlando & Boston IMO.

But if Orlando is not interested in giving up Vucevic would Boston be interested in Crowder + Smart for Gorgui Deing + 2018 1st Round pick (OKC)?

What about

Bos sends - Avery Bradley Jae Crowder for Vucevic and Aaron Gordon?

The Celtics can't take on salary. The purpose of the next move is to reduce salary.

No chance in hell that happens. ORL isn't giving up on A-a-ron that easy...

I have a feeling im going to be really disappointed with this next deal.

Something like Marcus Smart for a heavily protected first that turns into a couple 2nds.

It's not even Danny.

The entire league knows Ainge HAS to make this next trade to fit in Hayward. He has zero leverage.

Anyway we can trade crowder + Bradley for Melo + Knicks 1st round pick? Then flip melo to clippers for beverly + a future pick? This way we shed salary off the books and get a goid pg/sg with strong defense capabilities. Does the money work for the hayward signing?

Edit: I don't know if Melo would remove his NTC if he's going to the Clips though. Don't even know if their salary work so whatever.

that takes away cap space needed to sign Hayward. Crowder, Bradley, D. Jackson for Deng and a 2021 Minny first is more like it IMO. we have 3 2018 FRPs as is.

Normally that would be true, but the Celtics have 3 different players to choose from that many teams will find very attractive- Bradley, Crowder, or Smart. That's going to create some bidding.
