I don't think Danny would trade him. He can't afford to, we gonna have to rebuild when AD leaves.
Good assessment:

If the Pelicans really would settle for that, which I doubt they would, below would be my feelings about tuning in to the NBA next year

I doubt it’s true but if it is Danny must’ve told Griffin he’s not giving up Tatum.

Who the **** is Jake Madison? We can do better with these tweets, guys. Does he hold some position in the org? Is he at least a beat writer who has a pulse on the Pels?
He's their blogger, host of Locked On Pelicans, nice guy who gives his opinions but doesn't have any sources or anything.
Anyway...
Smart has to be included because I don't think Davis will waive his trade kicker for us and anyway we promised Baynes he wouldn't be traded now.
Then it's either Brown or Tatum. I don't think Brown gets it done no matter what Danny sends in terms of picks, they want Tatum. If it's Tatum I would pull MEM pick completely. #14 and a nicely protected BOS 1st rounder next year.
Tatum, Smart, #14, BOS 1st and Yabusele, Semi to match salaries. I think that would be enough and can't be beaten by anyone unless Wizards give up Beal or Sixers send Simmons or something crazy like that.

I need to hear from real NBA reporters/insiders. I need something juicy on Davis. If it's Tatum/14/Bos pick in 21 protected I'll go for it. Get something done. Lakers' offers are trash, I have a feeling a random team will get Davis.

I see people saying that, but I just don't see the team that will do it. OKC and TOR had nothing to lose. People mention Denver but they'd have to gut all young players because they have nothing else that would be valuable to NOP. Small market too. Let's say they trade Murray and Harris and a pick. What's left? Beasley, Morris, Barton, AD, Jokić... Can see it, but don't think they have the guts.
CJ and Collins isn't too bad, but honestly I'd rather have Lonzo, Ingram, Tatum than him and I'm not even that high on any of those youngsters.
Milwaukee was on the list, but all their good players are FAs.
Philly has nothing left after Jimmy and Harris trades.
Indiana has some stuff but they're a small market and not close to a title with just Oladipo and AD. Orlando similar too.
Riley maybe could offer Richardson, Winslow, Adebayo and clear some long term contracts, I wouldn't put it past him, but I don't think so.
Maybe Toronto if Kawhi really stays so they gamble again, but they'd have to wait mid-July for that. Clippers I bet are also waiting to see if they get Kawhi and then offer everything for AD.
I just don't see a team who is in a bigger market, can trade right away, has a good team even after the trade and has a realistic shot at a championship to convince AD to stay.

Very closely related. Good catch.

He was the artist formerly known as CrowderKeg.

Lol at Ainge if he doesn't trade Tatum. Guy is Tobias Harris at best. He'll never be a superstar.
Hasn't Danny learned anything from the missed oportunities of recent years?

If Ainge is as myopic as you want him to be, we will never win a title again.
What your saying is akin to: if you dont sell your house, take out large personal loans and put your life savings on 18 on the roulette table, you failed. You can always declare bankruptcy to clear the debt so you need to take this chance. You’ll never be rich in your current life.

More bidders outside of Lakers, I imagine.
I think Ainge zags here— if everyone is a buyer, you want to be a seller. Could see Houston really trying to pay up for Al now.
Ainge will stay firm— he cannot risk losing AD, Tatum and Kyrie in a calendar year for nothing.

I get you, but if I was making financial decisions based on my personal life, I would....obviously be more cautious lolSmartWentCrazy wrote:Jaqua92 wrote:Right. Just Danny failing. Come on guys. I'm willing to watch the Celtics gamble and lose all...that absolutely does not equate to me willing to make financial decisions that would lead to bankruptcy. Expressing my preference for a basketball team's decision that doesn't impact my life is very different than making personal financial decisions which CAN impact my life. As a result, the same logic in decision making does not apply whatsoever. You are generally one of my favorite posters here man, and I was super happy for you when you got made a mod..I feel bad saying this, but that is some reallllly bad logic there man..come on lol
