It mostly says that people should really stop making those kind of graphics when the volume is insignificant. I mean in Tatum's case he literally took 9 shots from that zone. People that want to generate any kind of takeaways from sample sizes this small should be forced to take Stats 101.

In the playoffs, Tatum took 12% of his shots between 10 feet and the three point line. I dare you to find a star with better shot location. Even Giannis took 19% of his shots from the midrange despite being a terrible shooter and being able to get to the rim much more easily than anyone else.

That said, I think Harden at the rim is pretty significant. That hamstring injury really did a number on him.

Tatum took a hard swing towards the analytic type shots this past year on the whole - at the rim, FT attempts, and 3 pointers. Despite all his talk about adding to his mid-range game.

The Nets could still consider trading either Royce O'Neale or Dorian Finney-Smith for a future pick in order to leverage their depth on the wing.

There is a notable word or two missing in that sentence.

It makes sense that he'd be offered that if Ronaldo indeed makes 200+ and Messi was offered 500+. Mbappe is only 24.

Obviously, good on those guys (and for the people around them that stand to benefit from it). But viewed from the lens of the Grand Scheme of things, those staggering numbers are... mind-blowingly obscene.

Not the athletes' fault, though. But still... :-?

I feel like this is an underused move now. Nice to see modern players still play old school basketball. Manu was also great at this.

2014 Spurs and 2015 Warriors built different hehe.

I guess 2014 was when Spurs stars took discounts? 2015 Dubs had Curry on a bargain deal w/ Green and Klay in rookie deals.

2020 Lakers with just the two high-paid guys.

EDIT: 2017 Dubs are cheaters since they didn’t pay Curry? Lol.

Harden, Curry, Dame leading this not surprising. Lol Smarf for Boston. I would've guessed IT even despite short stint.

Yall could talk so bad about me and who I accepted the money from but I bet you I would have done that year easily! Took that money (bout 700m) and use 70 million, pennies to me atp, to drag them for filth with nonstop ads and things when I left!! Billboards, ads, etc just trashing that government on their own dime!! Would have plastered all of their wrongs for everyone to see! Do you think I would care about people calling me a hypocrite and more? No sir no ma'am! I could do so much right with all that money, save thousands of lives and still never have to work for the rest of my life! Even then, I'd be still bringing in millions more for the rest of my career cause I'd only be 25 by the time the year was over!! Baaaabbbyyy??!!

The deal was structured as 200 millions base salary and the remaining 500+ millions for some BS PR position precisely so they can include clauses to avoid that kind of stuff. I'm assuming it's a similar arrangment for the players that did sign there. But it doesn't matter, Mbappé was always turning this offer down. He's too competitive to waste a year of his prime in that league and cares too much about his image to play for that regime.
