Thank you. Not sure if the Brown/Bender comments are sarcasm, but I think the top 5 of this draft is strong. It's 6 onward that is potentially disappointing.

But yeah, Brown is a freak athlete with a nice skill foundation. Same goes for Dunn. Bender may be a sharpshooting Pau. Why would any of that be disappointing to end up with?

I was serious about the Brown comment. Not that excited about Dunn or Bender though.

Didn't see the game but sounds like Poeltl played well.

@Mike_Schmitz: Thought Poeltl was huge down the stretch. Always around the ball. Made winning, high IQ plays. Not flashy but he's a stud.

Can't handle another soft finesse center. Poeltl is a good kid and works hard but I'm not seeing a guy who at minimum gives us a Bogut like impact.

Why exactly do you think he's soft? He doesn't look soft when I see him play

Murray looked very good in Kentucky's loss to Vanderbilt yesterday. Had 33 points on 12-20 shooting, including 6-10 from 3 point line). Also pulled in 9 boards. Best I've seen him play.

How good is Poeltl's rebounding compared to the current Celtics squad?

Nothing in Poetl's game says "soft" at all. At least in the game action I've seen him in. Looks rugged actually. Really attacks the glass. Don't know that he's my first choice for the draft but if we did take him I would not be upset.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Did it against another solid prospect in Wade Baldwin was well. I don't see how he fits with us but he is definitely improving by the week it seems.

He's a 7 foot center but don't view him as being an elite rebounder on the next level. Doesn't possess great length or verticality, not partically bouncy or quick twitched. He does compete I'll give him that but not the attitude and strength I'd prefer for us to have in the pivot. A good solid center with skills but Ainge needs to hit a home run with this pick. Pass for me.

I like Murray but the thing I always come back to is --- Is he an upgrade over AB? I don't believe so BUT there's probably more upside to this kid.

Well I think he has the upside to be an upgrade. Immediately, probably not. If he (Murray) measures out at 6'5 or greater, with some solid length I'd be intrigued. We've seen some very elite scorers in the NCAA not translate well to the NBA, but we'll see on his guy. We need scoring and shooting. If he were 3 inches taller he'd be a no brainer.

*reviewing his most recent measurements, he doesn't jaw a particularly impressive reach or wing span, imo. Came up a little short. Could limit him.

Yeah that's a concern is the fact that he'll measure out under 6'5 with 6'5 to 6'6 wingspan.

If we're looking for guys who are going to measure well relative to their position, I would focus on:

Dunn - likely a 6-10 wingspan
Brown - 7-0+ wingspan
Ingram - 7-3+
Stone - 7-4
Valentine - 6-10
Thomas Bryant - 7-6
Jonathan Jeanne - Gobert-like 7-7 wingspan
Cheick Diallo - 7-4
Caris LeVert - 7-1

Guys to be worried about:
Simmons - 7-0
Murray - 6-6
Demetrius Jackson - 6-5
Melo Trimble - 6-3 (major red flag defensively)
Grayson Allen - 6-6
Brice Johnson - 6-11

If Ben Simmons can to get to the line in the pros like he can in college, I have no doubt he can score 20+ a game. He's going to the line 11 times a game in conference play-- that's absurd.

He did play really well, not a rim protector but he played decent defense. Guy definitely strong on the offensive side of the ball.

Who's the 5th best player in the draft we should take with our 5th pick?

If Dunn is available at 5, do you take him regardless of position?

If Dunn is there at 5 you definitely take him. Simmons and Ingram are the dream, but Dunn, Brown, and Murray (and maybe Bender) are all going to be very good players.

Depends who goes at 4, let's assume that Simmons, Ingram and Bender go top 3. To me it comes down to Dunn and Jaylen Brown and I'd go with the latter. Brown would excel here with the tempo the celtics play and would give them a true finisher on the break. Needs to work on his J but would become the best slasher on the team the minute he was drafted. As a guy who can get to the hole and draw fouls plus run in the open court he'd be a great fit coming off the bench his first season here
