Could they actually offer something better than the Celtics???

LeBron lol

Something like Ball/Kuzma/Ingram and some picks is as good as it gets I believe. I think the picks are all their own too so they won't be very good.

That's what I was thinking.
Other than LeBron himself, they don't have enough to beat the Celtics.

The Pelicans have already said, that they'll wait.

Even if they wait, it doesn't mean they will definitely take our package. They could simply be waiting for us as leverage to get in the bidding to drive up the price. Lots of shoes need to drop before he's a Celtic in six very long months.

Correct, they have only their own picks, nobody owes them any, nor do they owe to anybody.

Ball/"Kuzman"/Ingram/Zubac/Hart are all positive trade assets, not sure much else is.

Then there is the issue of taking back players from NOP to fill out their roster / open up roster space on NOP.

Yup. Kuzma, Ball, Ingram plus picks. And they would be STOOPID to do that. Just as the Cs would be if they added both JB and JT. Again, people go stupid with this stuff.

If you don't include Tatum you lose the trade to LA if they simply offer Kuzma and Ingram. If they insert Kuzma, Hart, Ball and Ingram then you only win by putting Jaylen in there also. There's no other way.

Let's be honest. Ainge saw this coming as soon as he signed Gordon. The idea was always a big 4 with Al, Kyrie, Gordon and as Cave would say, Davis as the final killshot. It's time for that killshot..this is the reason we passed up on Kawhi, PG, Butler and every other star available recently..so that we could be here with a **** full arsenal of goodies to offer Nola. The only unexpected flaw was Hayward going down..but I would like to believe everybody within that organization still believes in him returning to form.

Smart, Tatum, Williams and Yabu salaries next season should get you around 25 mil..Davis is at 27. Insert another 3 or 4 draft picks and you get to take this trade and still keep Jaylen which would be absurd imo.

Kyrie, JB, Hayward, Horford and Davis.

Ugh. :droop:

Would love to see Ainge own Lebron again. First when Lebron was begging Cleveland to not trade Kyrie to the Celtics and now getting Davis when Lebron desperately wants to play with his 15th superstar when his current team might not even make the playoffs. Never hated an athlete more than this guy with his basketball stuff.

Genuinely lol at Ric Bucher trying to poke his head in the game to try to grab a piece of relevance. Hasn't had a scoop in 15 years.

If the New Orleans Pelicans receive a rich offer from a team for Anthony Davis before the Feb. 7 trade deadline, they could reach out to the Boston Celtics and reportedly ask who would be available from their roster in the offseason, according to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe.

If we offer our best stuff? Hell no.

Players are worth a little less, and their picks suck.

Also pretty sure he got outed for altering his mock drafts years later once it was clear who was good and who wasn't.

What you've been hearing. Basically the kids plus their pick. Lonzo, Ingram, Hart, Kuzma, Zubac. I'm sure anyone would be on the table outside LeBron. LeBron + AD + scrubs would definitely put you in contention. Vets will sign for cheap.

Basically we're offering the same thing, a rebuild. We'll see if other teams will offer established all-stars but there's no reason to assume our packages is any better/worse than anyone else..

You can make a case that Kuzma and Tatum are similar level. JB is above all else, but not too far from Ingram. Robert Williams is as intriguing a prospect as anybody else on that list. What separates Boston from the rest are the picks. If the Kings pick falls in the lottery and the Memphis pick is pushed back to lower protections we will be sitting pretty. Nobody can offer a guy like Tatum, a Williams and picks with great potential. We can also offer Smart who gives you a good 70% of what Jrue does for 1/3 of the cost allowing you to trade him also and getting more draft picks and young players.

Jayson Tatum is amazing. I love the kid. But dude had 6 points last night. Have you ever watched Anthony Davis play? When was the last time he scored 6 points? Lol. People do go stupid..but with the overrating of young players. Don't be one of those people that didn't want to trade Big Al for KG bro.

I just want this trade deadline to pass quickly. We're going to hear a hundred other rumors between now and the summer. These "sources" are also a lot of writers making educated guesses, it's no surprise that a Irving to L.A. rumor would magically pop up after his call to Lebron.

Tatum is projected to be way better than Big Al projected to be -- and you STILL include him to frame your offer and negotiate at the margins. If the C's can keep Smart/Jaylen while giving up Tatum that's a huge win.
The most charitable interpretation is that it's ethnic cleansing and massive war crimes.

I'm only willing to include Tatum IF ainge gets the extension immediately AND we keep brown and sac pick or Memphis pick.

So are can swing that for another star.

Otherwise I think ainge is literally blowing his load just to finish second to the warriors anyway

Yup. Remember the Harden thing? Wished he had been able to get him.

Wtf has that dude won? AD hasn’t won jack in NO. People need to be very careful selling everything.

So does anyone know if Kyrie can sign a one year extension NOW? If Irving was willing to do this doesn't this fulfill signing his next contract ? Not saying he would do this, but I'm asking if it could be done and how much he would lose, if he was able to do this and waited a year.
