We need a PF/ C to really compete. Someone over 6'10 and 250 that can move people and grad rebounds. At this point maybe Drummond is the answer, not perfect but an upgrade.

Watching Grant Williams play makes me miss Jared Sully. Both are fat undersized centers and oversized out of shape forwards however Sully could score. I would trade Grant Williams for a new Spalding basketball and maybe a net. me might have to add a second round pick to get it done.

Embiid destroys Drummond.

right now, the gap betwen Kemba, Tatum and Brown with the rest of the team is HUGE

Theis always gives 200% but he is who he is
Teague and Thompson are underperforming
Pritchard -only bright spot of the new players- is hurt
Smart is SO much not playing his role
Timelord is fine but needs to stay healthy
.
.
.
The rest of the team is GLeague, really.

I still remember people hating on Gordon Hayward, but he is exactly what we are missing (apart from bench players)

Hayward was very solid when he was available. Overpriced for your fourth option tho. We need Bigs.

How unrealistic is it to hope Romeo is a partial answer at the wing when he's back/healthy?

What about if we talk about Sexton (26-2-4 with great efficiency), a player that we could have and who would make the team clearly better if certain gm didn't make certain trade? or maybe we could have traded Sexton for that random player called Harden.

Uhm.. I could think of a guy who signed for the vet min in Philly.
Good assessment:

Will need to be aggressive with the ball and decision making likely will remain an issue. Ideally he's going to probe and kick. But you're still lacking in consistent perimeter shooters.

The Embiid over reaction here is something. Outside of Jokic he is the best Center in the game. Nobody is gonna stop him. Theis, a healthy Williams and Thompson can make him work. Right now Thompson is still rusty. He missed training camp, hadn't played for 8 months prior to that. I think by the time the end of the year roles around the 3 of them will be fine. Give Tacko some mins on him heck his ht may cause some issues.

We need serious help on the wings. Right now those mins are being absorbed by Grant, Semi and Green who are all like 10th men quality or worse. Naismith is not gonna help this year clearly. Romeo could help but thst may be a major gamble. He hasn't played basketball in 5 months and on top of that hasn't even been able to shoot which is his biggest issue. I think he can be a defensive player but that's about it.

PG situation is ok. Kemba, Smart, Pritchard but Teague has got to go. He's washed.

That's why I think it is important to ID 2 players and I'd have them be Wing and combo G.

I listed a bunch last night but here are some realistic options

Wings/Bigs
PJ Tucker $8-can defend 1-5 and hits corner 3s. Battle tested
Fournier $17-can shoot and score. Not bad as a secondary creator
Barnes $22-big wing that can defend up or down. Having a good shooting season.
Gordon $18-super athlete who can defend bigs well, rebounds well and can run the break as good as anyone.
T. Ross $13-hot and cold shooter but can get nuclear hot and carry an offense for stretches
Sterling Brown $vet min. Having a good season with additional mins. Could a swap of Teague for Brown and a 2nd rd pick get it done?
Rudy Gay $14-old vet who can score in different ways

Guards
George Hill $9-battle tested solid vet whose good in all phases.
Paddy Mills $14-scoring spark off bench. Can fill it up
Delon Wright $9-long G who can defend and has been better shooting lately in career.
Lonzo Ball $11-awful this year but could use a change of scenery.

Would be great to find out if Ainge was the one who was hellbent on getting what he wanted from the Pacers instead of taking what was on the table, and thinking he would just re-sign Hayward if Pacers didn't satisfy his demands. Or it was Hayward who was holding out until last possible moment until Hornets swooped in with their offer.

Pritchard made it clear Ainge’s asking price of Warren and Turner was too much.

“We’re going to try to improve the roster,” Pritchard said. “But it can’t come at a cost that’s so debilitating that it doesn’t make sense."

It's been 14 games, that's 20% of season. Yes it's been a problem we are not healthy but sadly we can say, our bench is worst than last year.

Bubble starting 5 are the best players and should start.

Kemba, smart, brown, Tatum, Theis

Then of the bench only 4 players till now proved they deserve to play

Prichard, Green, Semi, Timelord.

Who would though that Green and Semi will be our 8/9th best players.

Teague, G.Williams and Thompson have been HUGE disappointment, huge...no one expected that, but not a lot we can do.

Nesmith surely not ready, Langford injured and Edwards waste of spot.

Brad just go back to bubble starting 5 and Danny upgrade sg/sf/pf position.

Agree with some posters, we can beat anybody if bench is upgraded...because starting 5 is really, really good.

Imagine if we have this guy taking all those 3s that Grant, Theis, and Ojeleye are taking. But I'm just not expecting anything from gunshy Danny at this point. Every single year we speculate who he's gonna try to acquire but ended up with nothing because he "likes the guys we have."

If this is how it went down then that's a massive egg on Ainge's face. :noway:

Besides Pritchard pick the whole off-season was a disaster.

People here actually spent time defending Ainge this past offseason for losing Hayward for a TPE and botching the Turner/McDermott deal, trading away Kanter (who opted into a measly 1/$5 million deal) for absolutely nothing and then signing Thompson for 2/$19 million and a washed up Jeff Teague....

LOL
