I wouldn’t count out the Knicks just yet either. We shall see.

Meh, I ain't worried about them unless we aren't healthy. Maybe I'll change my mind by the playoffs though.

Well when you make them it counts doesn’t it? When the Celtics struggle from the outside they keep launching them.

64 wins in the reg season, 16-3 in the playoffs and finals, and won every clutch game in the playoffs and finals.

That's not enough proof that what the Cs do works?

They're even better this season.

They struggle in the 1st half, keep launching them, and most of the time, get the W. Fact of the matter is, it's worked. It has been working and will keep working until someone disproves math. Teams will be hardpressed to beat the Cs in a 7-game series with this formula -- get the advantage from 3, play D, and win the margins.

The cavs have attempted less 3 pointers than the Celtics by a lot this year. We shall see if this type of ball can win a ship. Last year the C’s did not attempt this many 3s.

They got some good depth when they some other guys back. Again we shall see. Feels like they won the trade over the timberwolves.

Almost everyone is taking more this year, including the Cs. Three-point attempt rate has gone up across the league. It's already won a chip. So what's your limit? We already won by taking the most threes last season. Doing the same this season.

You know what hasn't worked? Thibs running his six guys to the ground and they run out of gas and/or are injured in the postseason.

Love what Atkinson has done for the Cavs offense but I still don't trust their defense. They're too small outside of their starting bigs, who they can't even play together for long stretches. They have a move to make by the trade deadline -- consolidate that deep bench into one game-changing defensive wing (not sure who).

What gave the Cs trouble against the Knicks was the toughness and grit the Knicks had last season and in 2023.

The Cs got pounded in the paint and it would always be a close game.

Right now the Knicks are soft in the paint.

But it's true they got better on offense.

Maybe against other teams the Knicks matchup better, but against the Cs, it's a step back.

Lakers lose by 2 134-132 in it to the hawks. Lebroni with a triple double. 39 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assist. I don’t know how the old man is still putting up these numbers.

I can’t stand the cavs but it’s clear as day that they will finish no less than second in the eastern conference. They just keep winning games.

This just sucks for Orlando. I feel for their fans. Heal well soon, meeker Wagner.

via Shams:
Just in: Orlando Magic star forward Franz Wagner has suffered a torn right oblique and is out indefinitely, sources tell ESPN. Wagner sustained the injury Friday night and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

Magic have lost both of their star forwards -- Paolo Banchero and Wagner -- to torn oblique injuries. Devastating. Wagner has put together an All-Star worthy season: 24.4 points, 5.7 assists, 5.6 rebounds and lifting Orlando to a third-place, 16-9 record so far in the East.

Damn. They need to re-evaluate the training staff and their core work-outs.

via Nate Jones:
It’s an unwritten NBA law that teams that come out and play up on opponents defensively are allowed to be more handsy. You might not like it, but that’s almost always what happens. Kerr era Warriors have done it and now the Celtics are doing it. Refs reward aggressiveness.

This is in response to people that say Horford is allowed to get handsy with Giannis. He is. It’s because of the way the Celtics play from the tip. Refs give them more leniency on that stuff. He’s also good at hiding it. Real vet wisdom.

via Sam Esfandiari:
It’s true. I don’t want to call it underrated but ball pressure is probably most valuable think you can do in todays nba given the way teams want to play offensively and way refs officiate. So guys who are good at it tend to be worth more than market gives them.

This is why I think guys like Walsh and Springer have more value than people think. They just need to not be a zero/negative on other end of the floor. At the very least, be a 35% shooter from 3, not mess up spacing, and be able to do something with the ball on closeouts. Of course, the right opportunity, team fit, and PT are factors in players showing their true value.
