Rondo is a better fit when surrounded by all star type players.

It does not help the Celtics at all. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Smart can't even stay healthy. I don't have high hopes for him at all at this point.

Rajon Rondo has been so overrated by Boston fans. What did people expect them to get for a guy 5 months from free agency. If Celtics fans can't see why this trade was made then you need to wake up.

Rondo was gone no matter what. His market was obviously limited and other teams weren't giving up big time assets for him. If Rondo was truly some coveted piece, they would have gotten a better return.

It's time to really tear this thing down and rebuild right. The biggest mistake was not trading Rondo two years ago.

They were going to lose Rondo anyway. Getting anything in return helps.

I mean, it's been a month-and-a-half. He also didn't have any health issues in college so I don't see how you can say "he can't stay healthy."

What's the difference between Rondo leaving and we're left empty-handed and Rondo leaving and we got a bag of **** in return?

It's a sad break up but it was an inevitable course of events (as I think Jeff Green getting shipped out to follow is along the same lines, but thats a separate thread). It's not 1+1=2 $hit at all. There are all kinds of circumstances at play here although I don't think Rondo's play this season has been as big of a factor as some have made it out to be. For all we know he's been bored out of his tits all year. Not saying it's not him either with the shooting woes or post injury stuff, but we don't know. We're sure as hell going to find out when he starts playing with Dallas though.

And we're just in a totally different spot. We're rebuilding, and rebuilding is some ugly $hit. What can you do, keep the wheel of moves rolling and keep acquiring draft picks. I miss the days when good players were traded for players of similar value but that ain't the way things are anymore.

This is universally being viewed as a horrible trade for Boston

Depends on what they decide to do with Wright. If they're able to keep him this summer, he's a great addition. It sucks that he was the primary piece that came back, but the dude fills a pretty huge hole on our interior.

As I said earlier today before the trade went down... if the best thing you can say about a trade is that it'll make you terrible enough to yield a high lottery pick--- that's a bad trade. Biggest upside here is that we can move this flotsam and jetsam come the deadline.

**** Morey. I hope the Rockets are forever one and done pretenders. Cheap prick.

He's a 28 year old career backup center on an expiring contract. So excited I can't hold it in!

Yep, it's been a month and a half and has he even played half our games? I don't have the numbers infront of me, but I am pretty sure he has missed the majority of this season. And you think he's going to take over for Rondo? Please. :noway:

Maybe you should actually take a look at his numbers.

He is shooting 75 percent, is a solid rebounder and blocks shots. He averages .188 WS/48 for his career. But yeah; you're right. Total scrub.

I hope when Rondo is on the Mavs, he drives more and doesn't do any of that pounding the ball nonsense. Also I want to see much better defense. I think he's going to be pissed and be a force for the rest of the year.

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.
