Re: Gordon Hayward Thread
Remember all the open looks Tatum got last year because teams overlooked him because he was just a rookie? I got a feeling that Hayward is going to get those open looks this season because teams will forget how good he is.

If this team plays the right way there should be plenty of open looks for somebody at any given time.

And those open looks will be deadly. I can't remember a Celtics lineup that will be as deadly as this team is from 3. Going to be lovely!!

Yeah? Well someone told me he was gonna be ready for a playoff run in the spring of 2018. Wait that was me telling everyone else.

I am still thinking it will take the better part of the season for him to get his nearly full strength, hops and speed back.
But that's okay--they don't need him to be in top playing shape until the playoffs.

Re: Gordon Hayward Thread
This is awesome news.
Really hope so. Even if we limit him to like 24mpg or something for a little to get his conditioning right or whatever.
I think it's gonna be really beneficial that when he's playing 30mpg, he won;'t need to be creating & being the lead pnr ball handler for 30mpg , taking a beating. He'll go a few possessions not touching the ball at all. Couple possessions making an easy play. It won't be pedal to the medal for the full game & that should help as well.

Cassell-House-Judas-Pierce-Posey.
Lol I don't think we played that lineup ever, but all of them shot at least 38% from 3.
Our current starting five are more than just catch-and-shoot artists too. All of them can create off the dribble/catch/screens, attack the paint, and are not just outside threats.

Eh--the C's with 7 players at 38%+ from the 3 last year (if you include Bird and Gibson). But really, that '08 team had 2 starters, 2 rotation players, and 1 sub300-minute cameo at that level. The C's had 4 starters (the Jays, Kyrie and Al) and TRo off the bench hitting that threshold.

The "lol" part should have tipped you off that I was reaching and that I agreed with what CSB said.
Edit: My bad, I might've misplaced the "lol".

Good assessment:

Ha--not too likely with Smart at #16 on the team last year for rebounding rate, #13 for offensive boards. How about, "Baynes with the rebound, back out to Tatum..."?
Bringing the thread back to Hayward for a bit, my guess is the question won't be whether Brad demotes his protege to the bench while he is still not 100% next year, but whether he does him the favor of quasi-hiding him on the bench, letting him go more against 2nd stringers, while Hayward slowly works himself back closer to AS form through the year, before he's finally looking good to start in the playoffs.
Just as we read a lot of stories about Hayward trying not to be discouraged early in his rehab last year, I think we'll get some of those about trying to keep him from getting discouraged with his relative lack of strength, speed and hops going against prime NBA players -- starting in training camp -- for the early part of this coming season.

Re: Gordon Hayward Thread
Saw like a half second post on someone's IG story of Hayward playing 3 on 3, he was in a defensive stance in the post IIRC. There could be more/longer footage but I haven't checked. I follow so many people related to the team/players, I couldn't tell you whose page it was, sorry.
Kyrie is still playing 5/5 with the likes of KD, harden, Roze, PG and other top talents (can't remember the rest, I wanna say CP3 but it all blurs together). No I'm not saying roze is a top guy lol, just saying that he's out there.
There is so much more footage of open runs than I remember other seasons but it is so hard to find good footage of our guys other than Roze. This was on Miami's Court, so a lot of the guys were Heat players.

Why would he need to be limited for conditioning? It's not like he's coming back mid season. He's going to be ready to go full ahead just like any other player on the team come training camp. If anything he'll probably be in better shape than anyone else as he's been working hard all summer long and has something to prove.

I thought Kyrie was projected to be playing 5/5 by now, but still isn't and now isn't projected to until after the holiday? (And I think Wall was the big guy TRo was matched up against.)

lol probably was.
I am ready for w/e. it's funny, we played late and it still feels like we didn't make the playoffs at all. I feel 5 years older.

Yeah, actually, I was right, that was definitely Kyrie in the 5 on 5. I'm not talking about playing vs. Roze, just that they were both a part of the open run in miami. Kyrie is certainly cleared otherwise he wouldn't be out there. I never looked at the video again so I thought you could be right. I know it's kyrie for a few reasons 1) You can see him clearly 2) His shoes 3) his name is in the title of the video, second, behind KD's.
Not an argumentative tone, just saw the video again and realized I wasn't going crazy lol.
