There are a few 2nd-round picks who hit really big, like Jokic or Marc Gasol (who was a key trade piece for the team that first drafted him). Ainge hasn't had one of those. But BBD, Powe, Semi and so on give him a decent 2nd-round track record even so.

I do agree that those successes haven't been all that important ... and by the way, Ainge has been pretty free to trade his 2nd-round picks away.

That is one of the worst track records in the league, he got that in over 15 years, and it's not like asking to get an all-star with second rounds, just good bench players, or to get a starter in over 15 years like most teams do.

Well, he got a starter in Davis (mainly in trading him for Brandon Bass, after which both those 2nd-rounders started for their respective teams).

Where would you like to move the goalposts to next?

Ainge did bring in a Championship, in those 15 years.

It will cost a first rounder something Ainge doesn't normally do for an expiring contract.

At a bare minimum, were bringing ET in, so I’m guessing we make a move instead of outright cutting someone

Agreed. I'd be pretty surprised if they didn't do something.

The fact that Bullpett hasn’t thrown his wet blanket yet makes me think they are making a move.

Poirier may be interested in trying a second NBA team, to see if he can get more time there.

Do you realize we are talking about drafting? trading like that is what he should try, because we already know what will not work.

Abdel Nader, E'twaun Moore & Kadeem Allen say hi ;-)

Oh well, I guess you gotta go through all the second round picks who've hit and make a percentage list, and also a definition of when you really hit. Unless you've done that you're just talking with your anti DA-goggles on. Just like I'm currently talking with some of

Anyone else kind of miss the '14-'15 season when we had 22 different players log minutes? (Rookie Smart the only one remaining.)

The team stunk, but man were there trades. Those were the days.

Celitcs fans at the trade deadline - "Come on Danny, get rid of some of those draft picks for a fringe player!!!!"
Celtics fans on draft day - "Man, I wish we had more draft picks so we could pick up this potentially good fringe player!!!"

These draft pick trades almost always happen at the draft, you have no idea yet what you gonna like or not. Once again, if there's something what puts us in contender status he won't hesitate to throw in picks. If there's nothing there expect us trading up or down or whatever at the draft.
