Am I taking crazy pills, why are we not happy that the Nets (who were the last Eastern Conference team to beat us in a playoff series) just blew up?

I get about being upset about wanting Durant and not landing him. But being upset he went to PHX? Guys, that’s awesome. **** the nets.

Phoenix is nice, but they were near the bottom of the league in drives already. Feel like our team is well-equipped to take them on in a series. Our defense matches up well with them. Their defense does not match up well against us though.

They are no guarantee to come out of the west either. Even though we swept Durant out of the postseason last year, it’s still a good thing that to reach the finals we don’t have to go through him again.

Just 29 minutes played by the best starting five from last season. 1% of Celtics total minutes. Get healthy. Have at least a couple of weeks to get into a rhythm with our real rotation heading to the playoffs.

B. Robb, the hardest working man in sports journalism, has a nice article:

How Kevin Durant trade impacts Celtics options at trade deadline and beyond

https://www.masslive.com/celtics/2023/02/how-kevin-durant-trade-impacts-celtics-options-at-trade-deadline-and-beyond.html

Will other contenders get more aggressive now? Putting the regular season standings aside, watching the Suns turn themselves into what look like a clear-cut contender from a talent standpoint puts pressure on Boston and other top teams around the NBA. The Celtics have a strong group but they may have extra incentive to add one more impact piece to better match up with the Suns or another East contender if they make an addition themselves. As the NBA scrambles to reach to the Durant news, every team including the Celtics will have to take a longer look at what they need as the deadline approaches and beyond with the Suns looking like a top flight contender for years to come.

The Nets were the least of our worries. Did you miss last season?

Agreed. With Kyrie and his drama gone, a team led by KD, along with Dinwiddie and Cam Thomas might have been a 6 game series. We can beat them, but it wasn’t a walk in the park like last year.

Well let’s not forget just last week, Saric alone outplayed all our bigs combined. Horf with 3pts, Rob with 6pts, Kornet with 4pts and Grant with 0pts. Their 3rd big Landale getting rebounds and dunks inside. We lost to them with almost a complete lineup minus booker and KD. So let’s not be too cocky.

Come on lol. I think the Celtics are still better than the Suns, but Booker is unquestionably the better player. What do we think his numbers are going to look like without defenses completely honing in on him.

People seriously understate the gap between scoring as a top guy, and a secondary guy.

A Pritchard and a 2nd rounder for Cam Johnson fixes things for both teams

About to board from Barcelona to Dubai. If this scenario breaks before we leave, I will rub one out on the plane.

Grant 1st and a pick swap + filler for Collins and then you add as younger centre
Good assessment:

Can’t have it both ways. We can’t say any team with Durant is an instant title contender and then say we don’t have to worry about them.

Looking for a energizer center. Olynyk is not that kind of center

Maybe it’s the fraudulent 70 burger from a few years ago but Booker will always be an overrated stat padding chucker to me. I think he’s quite over rated personally. If you want to say he’s better than Brown I wouldn’t put up a huge fight but the gap is minimal if any.

He may not have defenses honing in on him, but he’s not going to have as many shots either. I don’t expect much change in his numbers at all

Booker was in the MVP conversation when he wasn't injured earlier in the season.

Very, very well might be right. The ball movement piece is what sticks out here. Both guys are pretty good ball movers and fluid with the ball.
