I remember the whole DROSE vs Rondo debate a few years ago: Much of the argument was centered around Rose's volume scoring vs Rondo's ability to make the team better. In hindsight, both arguments had flaws but fast forward one thing is very clear, without his A+ athleticism, Rose is just another guy.

Rondo is a better player than the current version of Rose. And that's too bad because we're already getting to the point of saying what could have been with Rose.

Injuries man. Hate to see them cut down potential All Time greats.

I guess we'll have to settle for 3rd worst then. Not too bad. Decent shot at Simmons / Ingram..

Bulls are a mess! How do you lose to the Nets when they are on the second of a b2b and Lopez/JJ playing 40 mins the night prior....

What pisses me off about Derrick Rose is that he refuses to become a real point. Like It's har for an alhpa dog to admit he lost some of it, but it's clear he has. That's okay, cause Butler, Gasol & crew can make up for your difference in ppg. Time to become a game manager, run the show, stop forcing up 20 fga's on 35%.

That was one of the best things about Pierce. Just doing what was needed. He needed to score? he was just shoot it all night long. Needed to rebound, pass, or defend? Well someone was gonna havta pick up the scoring. Rose is just forcing so much & it's ugly as **** to watch. I'm over the feel bad for you stage. I'm on the DRose, get it right stage now.

That turnover in the final minutes (driving diagonally AWAY from the paint for no reason, only to space out and dribble directly into Joe Johnson's hand) was one of the dumbest plays I've seen all year. D-Rose is Steve Francis all over again.

I could see the Nets making some sort of desperation trade for DRose. lol

Pierce didn't have that mentality until later in his career. Rose still thinks like a 26 year old star player. He'll come around eventually. Right now hes trying to shoot himself back into form, rather than reinvent his game. Star players have that stubborn mentality.

I don't even think Rose is a top 100 player right now. He's fallen off that bad. Teams don't care about his outside shot and he's not explosive anymore. Almost all his assists are when he tries to drive can't get were he wants so he kicks it backwards to Gasol for 15 footers. Average on D too.

"It took a lot out of me, man, those three years. Some of the hardest in my life," Williams told Yahoo Sports. "Made me question if I even wanted to play basketball when I was done with that contract."

"It's cool. There's a lot of people, I guess, who aren't built for New York," Williams told Yahoo on the eve of returning to Brooklyn to play the Nets on Wednesday. "New York is not for everybody."

Not exactly a ringing endorsement to free agents

Jimmy Butler called out his coach and team plus Brook on b2b...I would be shocked if Bulls don't win that game.
And Gasol even played - maybe instead of calling out his coach Butler can call Boston to be traded
Brad Stevens on fans who want the Celtics to tank: "I don’t think they’ll like me all that much then."

I expected the Nets finishing the year at 8-24 or 9-23, hopefully they go on a 6 game losing streak (including our home and home) to start the new year. And maybe even more cause there's no easy game at sight for the Nets except against the sucky Wizards team without Beal. They also have a chance against the old Mavs team.

Don't expect Miami to lose at home, or the Magic against this Nets team.

Didn't Prok push for the KG/Pierce deal? now his group owns 100%

This could actually be worse for them, somehow

Could still easily be part of a plan to eventually sell, but we won't know for sure until they start moving all long term financial commitments.

Either way, this guy has stuck with Billy King so he's alright by me.

Haha I did the same thing at first. Didn't even know they had minority owners anymore and it was the first time I ever recall seeing the name Onexim.

I believe Jingles alluded to it they did need to consolidate to actually sell so will be interesting to hear what the plans are down the road. Had something to do with unequal stakes in the team and arena iirc, he couldn't sell without sorting out ownership stakes. So maybe now we will see what the plans are for the future.

Return to Boston Celtics
