What a season! TCOB, rest and prep for round 2.
Saw Hartford native Rick Mahorn comment on the Cs.
Ha haha never change bad boy, never let it go.

Re: Official Celtics 2021-22 Post-Season Thread, 2nd Edition
When Kyrie left Boston it was such a gut punch. When our young team went to ECF and then we got Hayward and Kyrie back, a long playoff run seemed inevitable. His leaving led to a desperate signing of Kemba which almost paid off but did lead to a hemorrhage of assets including Horford, Rozier, Baynes, Morris plus all the assets we gave up to get Kyrie in first place - Sexton, Zizic. Jae Crowder, IT.
But in retrospect we had it all wrong. The 2017 playoff run was the template the team should have followed all along. That team makeup was the most like this one. 8 guys who could all defend at a high level created huge problems for 76ers, Bucks and Cavs and a team that catered to the strengths of the Jays really was the right way to build.
Seeing the chaos in Brooklyn for 3 years running, the Celtics are actually better off that he left. Despite his incredible ability to dominate on any given night against any given opponent, he is actually a very streaky player whose contributions to winning seem to be vastly overrated.

"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

He was the first national guy to be all over how good this team is.

Not sure where to stick this but I think we are entering the new normal for Jayson Tatum

I've decided to buy a celtics hat for each series they're in. I think the championship woiuld be a new era fitted. Unless someone has a better hat to get.
I'm already wearing the one for the NEXT series against whomever.

Harden/Durant/Westbrook/Ibaka says Hi.
Also Russell/Heinsohn/KC Jones in a single draft, with Sam Jones the next year.

I said it in another thread. All Danny's children. He should be proud. And some fans should be a bit chastened.
***And oh yeah, somebody chime in with his genius in skipping Fultz. And Ball. I'll say it again, not enough Ainge appreciation here. That move was sage like. Prescient. Sagacious.

Yes, one of the best 1-2 combinations in the league. If not the best. Especially if you take their "two-way'ness". Offense AND defense that they both play.

Re: Official Celtics 2021-22 Post-Season Thread, 2nd Edition
Coming in peace, gents. Assuming both teams close their respective series out, the potential ECSF series between Boston and Milwaukee has potential for some epic, playoff level defensive tough-nosed basketball. Tatum's latest mini-leap in the making is quite impressive.
"Wes, Hill, Ibaka, Allen, Nwora, Brook, Pat, Ingles, Khris are all slow-mo, injury prone ... a sandcastle waiting for playoff wave to get wrecked. A castle with no long-range archers... is destined to fall. That is all I have to say."-- FOTIS

Back in December, if you told me the Celtics would have the best odds to come out of the East by the end of April, I'd have told you to lay off the pipe.

Credit Danny for finding 2 guys in the same summer for 2 way contracts/last spot on roster in Max Strus and Green who both have started on a playoff team. The Cs did it again I think with Hauser.

Theis is the equivalent of a draft pick as well.
