Nobody can beat this team. We can even afford to rest tatum and giannis alternately, and still be great and dominant.

I wouldn't do either of those trades, especially the second one.

Another celtics 6th man of the year candidate perhaps?

Wait you mean the thought of eating 25% of the cap to pay Ayton to be the Celtics third best big doesn't excite you ? Wiseman and his -17.2 net rating don't appeal to you ? How can you resist Bagley's mix of non existent rim protection, misfiring jumper and lack of playmaking ?

I dreamed of drafting Ayton and now I really do wonder why.
I remember when Bagley was called the best prospect in the nation as a HS junior, but I never saw it.
I never really got into scouting Wiseman pre-draft because I didn't believe the W's would trade that pick to us.
I loved Harry Giles, and bummer that it just never happened for him.
I *did* like WCS and Okongwu (both 'hits', if low-key), and Sengun and Precious (not sure if either of those are going to pan out), but I also liked Mo Bamba and Nerlens Noel and most guys over 6'10" for the last 20 years, or 30 going back to Yinka Dare.

Anyway, if we need a shakeup this summer, Siakam is the guy I'm looking at -- which doesn't mean that TOR is looking to move him, but who knows where they're heading?

Miami: Payton Pritchard, #26

Indiana: #18

Boston: #29

Miami get Strus/Vincent replacement. Boston get their pick back. Indy consolidates for a late teens pick.

Could throw in Theis/Gallo swap to sweeten it for the Pacers. Or add in Yam or JD for the Heat since they need cheap bodies (but then I'd ask for #26 not #29).

Yeah interesting. If they are willing to strip all the way down to Booker/Durant, they could figure things out. Trade Paul/Ayton to a team with space and cheap role players, dump Payne and Shamet.

Or a sign and trade. I kind of like Ayton to Chicago, Lavine to Philly, Harden to Phoenix.

HArden would have to want it, but a Paul/HArden swap seems sensible.

Why would Philly be interested in that?

Big Expiring, and a big enough name that maybe Joel stays?

IDK, It certainly better than losing HArden for nothing.

CP3 is a big name, but he clearly has basically nothing left in the tank.

Embiid is not a good fit with Tatum and Brown. There is only one ball. Look at the difference between how Harden performed when Embiid didn't play, vs when Embiid did.

I think Embiid and Tatum would work together. also add to it not having Doc as a coach.

But yeah, Brown too, IDK about that.

But then trade Brown for Dame and call it a day. lolol

Dame
who cares
Tatum
who cares
Embiid

With the new contracts Tatum and Brown will be getting $600 mil between them), and with the new CBA, we'll barely be able to have 2 max contract players on the same team and still have enough $ left over to have a decent enough supporting cast for them. No way in hell we'd be able to have 3 max contract guys on the same team.

The league doesn't want anymore super teams. You can have 2 stars, not 3.

I think the strategy is simple. Lock up Tatum and Brown. And put the best possible supporting cast around them, consisting of solid role players (most of whom are vets with maybe 1-2 young guys who are still developing).

We're not getting someone like Dame, Giannis embiid, Ayton, Towns, or Donovan Mitchell. Nobody who's on a max contract or is likely to receive one soon.

Probably more when you consider that Tatum can sign after the new cap spike and new TV deal. 35% of the new cap is gonna be an OBSCENE amount of money and he's gonna be worth every penny. But yeah, it's gonna make it tremendously difficult to pay for that roster. I actually wonder if they don't begin cutting a few corners after this season.
