Dallas lost yesterday. Carlisle was pissed after the game.. i think they are 2-4 in their last 6 games.. things looking good

6-9 in their last fifteen. Dirk has really cooled off as well, he started the year like it was 2011 again.

Looks like it was an eventful night.

Plus Deron Williams (leading the team in minutes) strained a hamstring.

A while ago I wrote that it's a good thing that Mavs started the year strong. It makes the possibility of them tanking very slim. One injury in January/February and they might go from .500 to a late lotto team.

One more thing, their defense looks much better than it actually is. Couple of days ago there was a tweet about their D. Something like: they allow a huge number of open 3s but their opponents are shooting extremely low %. Sooner or later it will balance itself out.

The guy Carlisle was talking about might be Pachulia. He took him out of the game after 4 minutes last night. Biyombo looked like an all star last night dominating on boards and getting uncontested dunks.

I have done nothing but rag on Dallas this year. Not a big fan of most of the players they brought in, hate their bench & bitter over Rondo. But they have really shut me up & been playing nice basketball.

But they're coming back to reality. After their Jan 1st game in Miami, they'll prob be under .500 at 16-17 & I expect them to finish some games under .500. Good cause they'll suck enough to get their pick, but not enough to keep theirs lol.

Dallas will finish 7-8th in Wesr...there is no team now out of playoffs in West that coul improve a lot. Actually it does no matter if they make playoffs or not pick will be in same range 13.-16. We should be happy with this outcome!

Exactly. Almost better off having it be 15 and not risk losing it to the lottery to gain a spot or two.

Now if they epically collapsed and fell into the top 10, that's a different story.

I think PHX is the best bet to improve, but it's not likely that they catch Dallas without a major acquisition or an injury to Dirk or Wes. Phoenix is always a threat to do win-now moves and they will probably see a chemistry bounce once they are able to do the Markieff:TJones trade on 1/15. Could go any direction.

I guess Sacramento could as well if they exchanged McLemore or WCS for a win-now guy.

Yeah I agree with this, can't really see any team outside the top 8 in the west catching Dallas at this point. Unless something monumentally catastrophic happens, they'll be in the playoffs.
