RJ Hampton is growing on me. I listened to him and MIke Miller on Ryen Russillo's podcast the other day and he seemed like a solid kid. Mike Miller is one of the most well respected vets in recent memory and he's super high on the kid putting it all together. At 14 I think you gamble on a guy who might be a star.

Okay now everyone just needs to work on getting on board with Cole Anthony and Tillman and then we'll be ready:)

(I actually like Tillman but want someone taller and there are candidates for guys who are taller)

The kid's got one of the higher upsides out of the guys realistically available at 14. We should go for it if the staff thinks his jumper is fixable. Whatever role-player type people want to draft instead isn't going to play as big of a role as people seem to think. Drafting Hampton even if he's a project is a much better idea IMO

sometimes a guy who does everything at all star level but can't shoot is worth a pick. They can develop at least a NBA min average for shooting open 3's and become good, maybe great. too often we end up with MKG.

This year, i just want a guy who can already shoot above average and even if his basketball skills and everything else stink, he can sit in the corner and make a 3 if needed.

The thing is, if the ONLY thing a guy can do is shoot a corner 3, we have that guy. His name is Semi Ojeleye. Who shot 46% on corner threes this year.

We need prospects that contribute a lot more than that at 14.

Tillman is probably my least favorite prospect in the draft. Low low ceiling and massive hype from draft nerds. Grant Williams is much better..

But they already did this last year with Langford. I say change things up and pick someone with a specific bankable skill that would address a need (shooting). I'd rather have a guy we can use in the playoffs instead of 2 dudes oozing with star potential sitting by side by side on the bench because they're unplayable.

Trying to get a bench shooter in the draft is a low % play. You go get that vet in FA or in a trade..

Those short-term needs can be addressed through free agency. Vets are more likely to contribute in the playoffs anyways. Spending a lottery pick for those short-term needs is not an efficient use of the asset.

Let's be real, with the whole team healthy, we have 5 perimeter guys who are going to soak up a ton of minutes in the playoffs, so we're really talking about one perimeter guy filling 5-10mins a game in the playoffs. Spending a lottery pick for those 5-10 mins doesn't seem smart.

That's the type of mindset that leads to drafting Olynyk with Giannis on the board.

Could very well be. I think him or Bolmaro will be the pick at 26. Trade 30.

So far the guys who either worked out with the celtics or plan to work out with the celtics are:

RJ Hampton
Precious Achuiwa
Theo Maledon
Aaron Nesmith
Devin Vassell

The guys who through their media availability listed the teams they worked out for but didnt mention the Celtics are:

Tyrese Haliburton
Anthony Edwards
Isaac Okoro
Obi Toppin

Teams only get 10 workouts this year so my guesses for the remaining 5 workouts are:

Killian Hayes
Onyeka Okongwu
Patrick Williams
Saddiq Bey
and one of Cole Anthony/Tyrese Maxey/Kira Lewis

Vassell would be awesome. Said he didn’t change his shot mechanics either despite that video

Stash?

I am OK at drafting Maledon at 26. But not for Stashing. Why does everyone say we need to stash??

4 draft picks (at most) can replace Semi, Vincent P, Kanter and Javonte Green. Plus C Edwards and/or Tre Waters should NOT be considered locks..

Don't even want to mention Tacko.. My all-time Favorite "HOPE" Celtic.

so up to 7 players can be replaced.

AGAIN I am being repetitive but this draft has lots of potentially good role players, just need to draft them correctly.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Looking at video, I am impressed with Maledon's potential, but complete opposite on Bolmaro. He seems to always go left, NOT that athletic and can not shoot. I don't mind my BIG being a project at shooting. But my guards better be good or better at shooting or don't even bother. (though he is somewhat young)

Never saw the "hype" of Maxey. A 6'3 guard who is not a reliable shooter or a facilitator doesn't fit with what Boston needs.
