Nesmith's college stats - he shot 52.2 percent in 14 games for Vandy before he got hurt - https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/aaron-nesmith-1.html - absolutely not sustainable. Major leap from freshman to sophomore year, though. Coach raved about his work ethic and upside.

He have shooters on this team. Pritchard, Nesmith and Hauser. The problem is Ime doesn't play them. Ime only plays 7 guys.
If we trade for a shooter, he has to be a vet that can shoot and also play some defense or he won't see the court other than when we are getting blown out.

I agree with you to a certain extent. To your point, I look at the Miami Heat....They are INCREDIBLE at finding guys and developing them...Duncan Robinson is a great example....Lately it's been Max Straus (who we had)...You would think that if they had someone like Hauser they would find a way to make him productive and useful.
Pritchard is limited because of his size and lack of explosiveness...but he's good. I like him as a backup guard. Nesmith is supposed to be a good shooter, but he's not making shots...so I'm curious if that's a confidence thing because of a lack of opportunity. Hauser is a guy I'd like to see play....he looks like an awesome shooter based on the small sample size I've seen of him.

Hauser and Nesmith will have a hard time scoring if they are on the court with the Jays and Schroder. Who will be looking for them? Can't shoot if you don't get the ball. No chance of scoring at all if you don't get put in the game. Ime needs to put together a lineup that will capitalize on Hauser and Nesmith's shooting. Pritchard's too. Pritchard, Nesmith, Hauser, GWill, and RWill. If you need more defense, sub out Nesmith or Hauser for Josh Richardson (or Romeo). If you want to see what these guys can bring, though, leave the Jays on the bench. They could use the rest anyway.

I'm hoping we move on from Schroder. I actually like him as a player but he is waaaaay too reckless for our team. Plus, I would prefer to see a bigger guy in that role.

I absolutely love his speed, however, and think it challenges the defense in the way that we need. But his turnovers can be awful and in general I think he contributes to the disorganized play that has plagued this team this year.

Good player. Just not the right fit IMO

We're going to be worse without Schroeder, significantly. Unless we manage to get Coby White back, which isn't happening. Will be more of a step back than we had losing Theis. He's arguably our third best player half the time, and our offense is already struggling. It is what it is.

Richardson replaces schroder if a schroder trade returns nothing.

Richardson is 85% of what schroder is at getting his own shot but is more than schroder at everything else

Moon
Hyland
A. Holiday
Mcbride
Hayes
Lee

Going Schroderless may well be addition by subtraction. But frankly, I would not be surprised if Schroder stays past the deadline. All of the contending teams are set at the point.

The game just has not slowed down for Nesmith yet. He's still playing with a nervous energy but I don't think we should give up on him. I think he's kinda exactly what this team needs if he could find a groove on offense...

The "nervous energy" helps him on defense, though - it's like he's tightly wound up and it helps him on one end and hurts him on the other

Nesmith shot well during a brief stretch in college before his team played any decent competition. And then he got hurt. We have no evidence as a pro that he is even an average shooter. It’s all been propaganda. Even Young looked more promising as a shooter and he was a complete bust. He has been pretty awful overall. I say this knowing he just had one of his best games as a pro. I just don’t see him doing anything before his contract is up.

No evidence??? His rookie year?? Meanwhile you're the type who cut Kris Middleton..when he was on Detroit..he shot 26%..what a scrub..

Ok. This is a late night idea.

Clipper need to shed money long term
Chicago needs a pf
We need better youth

So

Horford and schroder and boston 2nd to clippers

Morris boston 2nd to chicago

White, kennard, brown jr, javonte green to boston.

Then send out romeo, nesmith and juancho for a backup bigman (bagley?)

Smart/white
Kennard/green
Brown/brownjr
Tatum/grant
Timelord/kanter

While I like some of those choices how many would ime actually play them with confidence as my question

Josh had one season putting up 16 a game, he's a 12 ppg guy consistently. Not sure he can show up in a bigger role - and it's not just about whether he can put up a few more points with more touches - there's a good chance he can. But he can't get himself buckets the way Schroder does. Josh is the more well rounded player, but he doesn't have that stand-out skill.

When Stevens attempts to trade Juancho and Schroder for tax relief, other GMs will just sit back and laugh. If the Celtics want to avoid the tax, our 2022 first round pick is toast.

Tune*...

Loud and proud. I'll just say "told ya so" now..so when he's eventually traded and you see how much he's held this team, you won't have to hear it ;)
