On the other hand it seems like his body falls apart every year at the worst possible time.

I desperately want this, but only if CP3 would be willing to come here on a smallish contract and play off the bench. In this scenario I would trade Brogdon for value in another position and keep PP.

We could even come to an understanding that he migrates into an assistant role at the end.

However CP3's smarts and playmaking are things our team desperately needs to stop the stagnation.

If CP3 signs with a team not named the Suns, Lakers, or Clippers I’ll be shocked.

Is he able to resign with the suns on a free agent deal?

If they waive him yes. If they stretch him, no.

You boys know Brad is going to randomly snag a quality piece for trash right? He has done it every year.

What he won't do is trade any of Smart/Brogdan/Brown

Stars have to align but absolute best case is Brogdon or Smart + picks for an all-star.

Or work in a third team and move off two of our guys..

Zach Lavine? Even Brogdon for Derozan would be a decent swap. Siakam? Finding a way to turn two of our point guards into Lillard isn’t impossible..

If Suns move on from CP3 then a package around Smart for Ayton helps both teams.

There's no way we're adding another $30M player to this roster.

No it doesn't. We're not taking on another $30M player.

Nesmith and a #1 for a player who is injury prone, can't play D, and is is now due $45mil over 2 years. Did he move the needle this season? Meanwhile, Denver gave up a lot less for KCP and Bruce Brown - two players who play great D and are in the 2nd tier of 3pt shooters. Maybe I'm thinking of a different Brad.

BTW, Murray had a triple double in G3. When was Jaylen Brown's last 3D?

There was another player I wanted in the 2016 draft. I'm amazed he wasn't drafted. Dumb Danny could have snatched him up with his late #2. Fred VanVleet had a sensational 4-year career at Wichita St. Alas, Dumb Danny took Abdel Nader. Boston is not a destination city. Therefore any Cs GM had best learn how to draft.

LaVine is JB lite. We don't need another one of those score-first, score-2nd, score-3rd types who don't apply themselves on defense.

Brogdon alone makes 23 million…

Hou out: Green, 4, Tate
Hou in: Brown

Jazz out: Markkanen, 9
Jazz in: Green, Tate, 4

Bos out: Brown
Bos in: Markkanen, 9

If we want to shoot threes, why not get a guy 7’0 shooting 39%?

He's still young, too. Just turned 22 so still getting better with untapped potential.

If I'm Brad, I'm watching what happens with the pistons draft pick closely. They're picking 5th - if they take 1 of the PF's in that spot (jarace walker or taylor hendricks) that would probably be the last straw that pushes them over the edge to really be open to trading Stewart.

Perhaps Pritchard + filler gets it done?

We could use a guy like Stewart who is tough, a bada%%, doesn't back down from anyone, not afraid to mix it up and get physical. An enforcer type.

That better be some sweet filler, lol. But would definitely be interested.

That's true.

How about:
-Detroit drafts jarace walker at 5, so no longer needs stewart
-Celtics trade 2024 1st round pick + pritchard for stewart
-We make stewart our starting PF of the future. Rob starts at center. Al (who will be 37 yrs old) is moved to the bench as our primary backup big man

Then maybe you trade either Muscala or Gallo in a separate deal since the 2 of them are kind of redundant with what they bring, and with Stewart onboard, there's less minutes for them anyways.

Celtics can't trade 2024 1st due to the stepien rule.

And Hal, I know you watch a lot of bball and I highly respect your takes but you need to seriously stop falling in love with videos. You're full on scouting reports, highlights and now workout videos crush phase.

I feel you're assessments would gain a lot of more realism if you weren't that overly positive about all players and videos
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

playa-hater wrote:I am not against trading Brogdon for the right deal. But too much hate going on with him. He had a really good season with us. Became 6th man of the year. Tops in 3 point shooting etc.. Finished poorly due to mainly an injury to his shooting arm.. But in some cases we are practically giving him away..

He is not a part of the core that has disappointed us for the last 4-5 seasons. I will acknowledge fans have all kind of opinions. But damn... Let's keep the core of Low IQ players who seemingly always lose because of stupidity .. with a absolutely lame HC and trade Brogdon.. :nonono:

I'm not a fan of trading Brogdon unless it brings us clear fixes of this team's problems.

We have an insane team who's only going to be better next couple of years until the tax hurts us.

We just need to find a big body to help our thin frontcourt but our best bet right now to win a chip is probably run it back with the exact same team.
