Raptors improved, how much so depends on how healthy Leonard is.

Still the Celtics conference to lose.

I'm really confident we are better than the Raptors by a significant margin.

Oh Definitely.
When it's crunchtime, they seem to fail, every time.

In fairness a lot of that was DeFrozen. But I also have the C's with a huge coaching advantage: Stevens >>>> Nurse .

Along with people overestimating him.

Amount of Finals Kawhi has led a team to without Duncan, Ginobli, and Parker playing alongside him: 0

So we going to ignore him single handily destroying GSW with KD on the team? Dude was giving you 28ppg while locking down the best player.

Like I said, it is sad people forgot about good Kawhi was.

He can average 24-25 at best and be the best defender, definitely not the type player LBJ is for example on offense, but more impactful on defense.
Good assessment:

Leonard is phenomenal, but Toronto isn't good enough to beat us even with him.

And LMAOOOO at Philadelphia. Just LMAOOOOO. They go from thinking they are getting LeBron and Kawhi to settling for Wilson Chandler and then Nemanja Bjelica backs out of his contract.

Kawhi going to Toronto is best-case scenario for us. He doesn't go to Philly, and the Lakers don't get what they want.

This is great.

Pretty big gamble by Raptors here.

I don't think Toronto would have been on Kawhi's list of teams he'd go to (had he made one). And he clearly wasn't involved in this.

Fingers crossed it's a one year rental and then he goes to the Clips.

You never know, once he gets to Toronto and sees all those banners in the rafters....

Bring it.

We need a bit of steel in the East, if we're to win it all - we need some contenders to stare down.

I don’t think they did actually. DD was their main scoring threat and now thats KL. They get better defensively but I think its a wash at best offensively and thats IF (and its a really big if) Kawhi is really healthy. They also are only getting him for a year before he flees CN to LA. This is a salary dump to get away from DD who they know can’t get the job done in the playoffs.

Wonder if LA buckles lol.

I didn't think so, tbh. I mean Pops wants to compete before he retires and Derozan + Aldridge is a decent combo, they will probably dump somebody on the Raps as well. I think that's a decent move for them if they get OG and Derozan- that's their starting SG and SF, Murray at PG and Aldridge at PF/C is a team that can at least make the playoffs and compete out West.

DA needs to trade for Zaza and bring him out only for Raps games

This is great.

No question about it. PHI one of the biggest losers of the offseason.

I mean, their amount of "lose" has a floor, since a year of improvement from Simmons/Embiid is hardly the end of the world. But, with all that cap space and trade currency, and the high expectations they had, things have gone about as poorly as they possibly could have.

You're underestimating Leonard's offensive prowess. Go look at the playoff series against Memphis two years ago. Averaged 31 in the series and was on fire.

lol at that Demakis tweet saying the Raptors are the favorites to win the East.

Valanciunas stinks, Ibaka is washed up, Green is not even half the player he was a few years ago and Lowry is a well-known playoff choker. Leonard is the only player on that team to be afraid of.

Last month, I said their biggest offseason signing would be J.J. Redick. I've never been so happy to be right.

Nah, Neo eventually surpasses Morpheus.

It's more like we're Neo and they're Smith. Perpetually right about at our level, sometimes seeming a bit above, sometimes a bit below, but never quite able to close the deal when it really counts.

You just going to forget they signed the best player in all of sports to a 4 year deal?

Wait, the Lakers signed Tom Brady???? I mean, surely you aren't calling the GLOAT better than the GOAT.
