The best thing that could happen to Marcus Smart is a trade to a contender, to let the J's and the haters stew in their own juice. If he wins a ring, he could post a picture of it here, but why should he give a sh*t?

I think all can be had for less than you would think there value is.

dont know much about most of these guys but Dennis Smith was a 15ppg in his rookie year. He is now 24 and being bounced around horrible teams. WTF happened to him? When i saw him play with Dallas i thought he was the next Westbrook stats wise

I agree that Smart could win a ring if traded to a legit contender like Suns or Nets or Bucks. Of course same could be said of Juancho.

Nesmith shot well during a brief stretch in college before his team played any decent competition. And then he got hurt. We have no evidence as a pro that he is even an average shooter. It’s all been propaganda. Even Young looked more promising as a shooter and he was a complete bust. He has been pretty awful overall. I say this knowing he just had one of his best games as a pro. I just don’t see him doing anything before his contract is up.

No evidence??? His rookie year?? Meanwhile you're the type who cut Kris Middleton..when he was on Detroit..he shot 26%..what a scrub..

I’m not the type to cut Kris Middleton because I’m just a fan so I can’t cut anybody. For the record, Middleton wasn’t cut…..he was traded for a 20 ppg starting PG former lottery pick with lots of upside who never really reached his full potential. I can’t do that with Nesmith either….even if I was a real GM….. if that trade was possible Brad would do it in a nanosecond.

Some bad luck, some injuries, but.. he's individual production without the understanding of how to play basketball. Carlisle is a demanding coach, I'm sure he wasn't patient, but the Knicks and Pistons and now Blazers have all given DSJ a chance. He's been busting his ass a little more on defense. Maybe he's the Billups type who puts it all together late, and Billups is his coach.. could see him have a career as a good backup point guard.

I think he'll have more than that eventually - i.e. an ok starter, if he gets it together in the next 2 seasons. He was always inefficient but shipping your rookie PG to New York that early in his career because he wasnt the perfect fit next to your Other Rookie SG is just daft. Dallas really **** up that one. And Carlisle was effed by Doncic eventually wasnt he?

sure, because he's the main reason this squad struggles. Have you seen this ugly ISO offense!? Embidd even said were a lot easier to defend then Charlotte LMAO. You lose the only guy with passion, heart, 120% effort, then who's taking the bull by the horns on this unit? crickets....

If we get stuck giving them Schroeder/Juancho for Burke/Frank to duck the tax, and Porzingis stays healthy, they creep up into that top tier in the west.

We'll see. You just made 2 pretty big fake trades there.

I'm not sure there's much of a market for Smart right now. At least not to the point where the juice is worth the squeeze for the Celtics in the deal. I think it's more likely that a trade is made and Smart goes back to the bench which is where he belongs.

FACTS any team would love to have Mahcussssss. This team is soft as it is, and if you remove Cobra, good luck bringing that playoff intensity in a 7 game series. This team is full of pre madonnas! KG and PP aren't walking in that door, we are stuck in ISO zone... We should add on to the roster and unload Dennis the Menace / some of our youth to get a few vet shooters in here!

As I've said before, Smart has significant value to contending teams but not to others.

Jeff Green embodies mediocrity. It's a natural fit. Go Cs.
